This is actually more of a feature than a bug in a sense: most non cubers can do one face with patience , so it's a puzzle they can solve (if by solving we mean opening the box).

I also commented this on the original video but to lock it all you need to do is pull up on the white layer as forcly turning it can cause it to break

Hi. love the video. just got the treasure chest. i can open it without pushing the button that far or forcing the system to make it pop back up.... only thing is: if i unscrew with little pression...the pieces don t seem to stay together (the "lid" ones.... whereas if i unscrew pussing the buuton all the way down and blocking it...they stay together.... that s how my cube works. and same thing about solving only 1 layer....definitly won t hide anything important..maybe just a 1 euro coin for the kids...

I got this puzzle 2 days ago and it's already broken. Wouldn't recommend it especially since you don't even need to come close to solving the cube to open it.

They expect you to start with white so they put the lock mechanism on the next two layers. So if you start on yellow you only have to do cross and F2L

Hadi Hamdan agreed. I asked for this for Christmas and got it, only to find that, not only is it extremely difficult to turn it open or closed, when I try to open it the centre cap pops back up. Plus the fact that as long as the white side is solved you can open it. That alone just ruins the entire puzzle for me. It seems quite poorly made, not material wise, but design wise.
