Is there such a thing as a "female low libido hormone," or "female low libido hormones?" There is SO much controversy surrounding which hormone-estrogen or testosterone-is primarily responsible for regulating & increasing female sex drive. Learn more about hormones & their relationship with female sex drive: → Understanding the sex hormones: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJuqi3h8qbWqq5I → The sex hormones' effects on female libido & understanding hormone test results: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmmmXmCFp7aLhM0 I want to tell the story of the controversy & present the research for you in this video; however, more than anything, I want women, & people with female anatomy, to understand what science thinks it knows about their bodies so that they can make informed opinions & decisions about their sexual health. I hope this video brings you one step closer to that understanding 🧡

Ridiculous! Testosterone aromatizes into estrogen, body balances hormones, you should know that.

Also, testosterone gives more energy and ability to produce muscle mass: both important things for “being in the mood.” It could be several factors and interplay.

Correct me if I am wrong but is Testosterone not the hormone that the female body uses to produce Estrogen? Estrogens are generated mainly by the action of aromatase, which converts testosterone to estradiol and androstenedione to estrone.

You're the best, thank you so much for your well wishes -- Keith and I appreciate it more than you realize 🤗 and I hope my story didn't deter you from biking! You seem to have such a good relationship with your body, I bet so long as you don't ignore/push through any bizarre pelvic symptoms, you'll be just fine 🧡 And thank you so much for your kind words, truly. I'm starting to feel well enough to put in more effort more consistently, which means (hopefully!) more educational pelvic videos are on the 2021 horizon!

I am not a women, but I was given trt therapy because I never hardly cared for sex, as a male I always felt weird. So I started trt and got my testosterone super high, which also made my estrogen high. It made no difference having testosterone at around 2000 and estrogen around 70. They gave me estrogen blockers saying that should help, and it just made me feel like crap everytime I took it for like 2 weeks. So I decided to see what reducing the testosterone would do. I have been on the cream, 4 clicks per day. I went down to 2 a day. Within 2 weeks, my energy levels doubled, and I want sex every day. My women is very happy. I spend an hour at least enjoying her body every time. My testosterone level lowered to 600 and estrogen 48

It is neither estrogen OR testosterone, it is the interplay of both hormones that impacts libido in women. That's why women have both those hormones...progesterones main purpose is to regulate estrogen along w other benefits. Testosterone does impact a woman's sex drive in the proper dose along w many other benefits.

21:10 I think your graph is wrong since a healthy young woman actually has more testosterone than estrogen but for some reason most people don't know this, even DRs don't know this and the hormone graphs always misrepresent this. The video is very interesting other than that!!

Science hasn't done enough research on this... And also it's not a shame for a woman to have higher libido due to high Testosterone rather than Estrogen

I completely agree with both of sentiments! Science has not done enough research, and the research they have done has been speculative and biased in my opinion. And I agree that there is no shame in increasing libido with testosterone, I believe I say that towards the end of the video 🧡

Problem is high level of estrogen causes complications especially if your a diabetic, with tetestrone it can be controlled amount. You would not need it all the time only when you feel you need it, high level of estrogen causes unwanted things as well, that's why I had to take a break on the pill just for gains at the gym, really works great because if you have a healthy diet in your mid 30s and your actively going to the gym your body will be able to handle tetestrone for atleast a week. It's not necessary to need tetestrone daily but its needed for an active lifestyle on muscle and sex drive. You can always go back on the pill anytime but they never tell you that, so all these woman are not figuring out when to take a break from it, which you should like me I took it for years as a hormone therapy not because I was sexually active. Now that I am actually active I dont mind being off the pill because it does benefit for me and let's face it a year or two with no sex drive thanks to the pill isnt great long term. I found it very hard to push libido and energy, it does affect my gains at the gym and my energy levels. When I was overweight totally different story I needed to rely on the pill all the time could of been because of high estrogen who knows it was mainly PMS, now I dont need it as much unless for protection and I can handle almost a week without them just to get hormones back. One day I would like to get off them for a month to see how ovulation stage goes and the shock but the PMS when I was overweight I was barely functioning, now I can handle tetestrone but not a long period of time. As needed

Question - VERY IMPORTANT - other can maybe get theirs answered on this as well . Im 38 years old female , married ,2 kids . About 2 months ago , I had an awesome libido , but within a month , I had a change . First I noticed that I started acne again , even though I used to have it since I was 16, for almost 29 years , but I actually decreased my acne once I detoxed in my late 20s. Anyway , after acne I noticed numbness in fingers and toes especially when I got cold - summer I’m June lol- lower back pain , abdomen fat, lower right side abdominal pain, which I’m thinking ovaries ? As I had ovary cyst in early 20s before kids . vaginal dryness, low sex drive , hair dryness and breakage especially on the Top of the head- maybe hair thinning ?, tingling / numbing on the cheek bones and 2 to 3 pounds weight gain . I’m thinking possibly thyroid issue as it runs in my family , adrenal fatigue, . Low iodine ? . I don’t know what to do . I don’t know if I should buy iodine , vitamin D, ashwaganda , estrogen increase supplement , adrenal support or what else ? If anyone can recommend or relate , that would be nice . I bought estrogen supplements, minerals , , liver detox and saw palmetto already

@@1030kg hey! Ye so have fixed all the issues some at 100 percent and others at 80/90 percent ! I love all my new products, as I started supplements when I was around 25 . I have noticed that b3 niacin flush I really helping with the detox as well. I do it 2 times a week . I take 500 mg before doing walking for an hour , before my walk is finished I start flushing red as if I have allergic reaction , then I go take a hot bath to sweat for 40 minutes minimum, after that I take 3 pills of activated charcoal to flush out the chemicals . What it does is flush out chemicals from fat cells , I’m turn , I should get a flatter belly within a year . At least that is what I’m hoping . Been doing it for 2 months or so I think . I’m not a doctor , so I don’t claim anything , and as always , speak to your doc first 🙈🤪🧐🤭🤣

What is the minimum estradiol level for an adequate sex drive?
@PelvicEmpowerment

That's a really good question, and not one that I know the answer to, as hormone prescription is outside of my scope of practice. I'd guess it depends on the person and what their estradiol levels were at a younger age, though!

Most likely it's every person reacts differently same,as some changes on higher dosages of hormones can be genetic Best idea is microdose to figure out what's best for the individual Same as some have different sensitivity or tolerance to things

testosterone is affecting libido in male and female. Look at female bodybuilders who use anabolic steroids. One of the side effects is extremely high libido just like men who use testosterone. I know your body will also make more estrogen when testosterone is injected but most bodybuilders use estrogen blockers to reduce fat and water

Don't men need estrogen, too? I think people think it's only testosterone. While it definitely does increase libido, I don't think it is that simple. Even dopamine plays a role. I have PCOS and higher levels of testosterone, and I know that my libido isn't any higher that the average woman. I think women and sex drive is overlooked. There's this idea that men only want to spread their seed, but that's false. The father plays a role in raising offspring as well. Women weren't just baby-making machines. Plus, testosterone converts to estrogen in women, but not the other way around. Isn't progesterone a precursor for both? Also, there are women who have higher sex drives than men out there. A little testosterone goes a long way, and women are more sensitive to the hormone. I believe that there is a limit. People don't want to believe that women are sexual.

Yes men use estrogen as well as females make DHT or "Males produce progesterone in their adrenal glands and testes. "

Also something to note DHT is stronger than T and does not convert to estrogen that's why some females have balding if genetics cause more

No that's incorrect but they make estrogen progesterone DHT and t but males don't make HCG ever. T is only raising pregnant or highest giving birth or with conditions. "Normal Range: Testosterone levels are measured in nanograms per deciliter (ng/dL). For adult women, the typical range is 15 to 70 ng/dL123. Keep in mind that these levels can fluctuate with age. Age-Related Changes: Testosterone levels decrease as people age. By the time a woman reaches 40, her testosterone blood levels may have declined by about 50%1. High Testosterone Levels in Women: High testosterone levels in females can indicate conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), adrenal tumors, ovarian tumors, or hermaphroditism (having both female and male sex organs)1. There’s no exact number for determining high testosterone levels in people assigned female at birth (AFAB). Clinicians typically use lab reference ranges to diagnose high testosterone1. Lab ranges can vary, but generally, high levels may fall within the range of 40 to 120 ng/dL1. Remember that individual variations exist"

What's amazing about estrogene and libido is that some study suggest that this hormone may be responsible for male libido. 🙃 But testosterone is responsible for energy level and pleasure from activity. So if you have high estrogene and low testosterone you may be too tired and too scared to approach women. I think that it sumss up what called "incels". We are not different from other Animals, we are simply more concern about sex drive and also gender. Defining woman and her sex drive with a hormone only, is very closed minded and it shows you have a very narrow view about sex and gender, and just take into account all the social stereotypes that come with it. Some women are naturally born with more testosterone than others.. Now how about that? Does this make them less women?

Do females only have sexual desire from testosterone sensitivity or does estrogen give females more sexual desire than testosterone? Testosterone gives males our unique features but sexual desire isn’t a uniquely male quality. Sexual arousal is one of the greatest feelings to both genders but if it depends on testosterone wouldn’t that make it more of a male than female quality? I’ve seen many people and studies saying males have more spontaneous sexual arousal and that it’s because of testosterone. I’ve seen much fewer people and studies saying estrogen gives women more sexual desire than testosterone.

Men have testosterone estrogen DHT and progesterone only thing they never have is HCG."The hypothalamus of the brain plays a big role in this, stimulating the production of the sex hormones testosterone and estrogen from the testes and ovaries. While these chemicals are often stereotyped as being “male” and “female,” respectively, both play a role in men and women. As it turns out, testosterone increases libido in just about everyone. The effects are less pronounced with estrogen, but some women report being more sexually motivated around the time they ovulate, when estrogen levels are highest. The testes and ovaries secrete the sex hormones testosterone and estrogen, driving sexual desire. "
