Great video. Thanks for sharing. I’m a new off road rider with intentions to ride parts of the TET next year on a Honda CRF300 Rally. If you guys come back perhaps I could join you. Have a great day 👍👍👍

Very interesting video. I bought a 901 Expedition in October 23 and now I’m looking for tips to plan my first motorcycle journey to Scandinavia. I’ve found quite a lot in your video. Thank you!

Great video. I'm so glad you enjoyed my hoje country. You didn't mention the mosquito in this video though. My additional recommendation for traveling on the TET in Sweden (goes for Finland too) is to buy mosquito protection, some places it is mad. Especially if you are wild camping or staying in the wind shelters.
@offthetarmac488410 ай бұрын
We only had problems with mosquitos at one site. We all had head nets and repellent cream, but didn't need them.

Great video, I'm a swede from Sunne in Värmland so you passed not far from home. I always use my Klim Badland jacket, great ventilation but not when hot (above 30° celcius). I have a cotton t-shirt underneath and spray water on it so it get really wet. With all ventilation open this cools you. I have to wet it about once an hour. This works very well for me.

Thanks very much for posting this video Simon, I was keen to hear your insight as i hope to follow in your tracks in the near future. My biggest worry at the moment is negotiating the road section through Holland and Germany as I'll be riding an even smaller bike than you (CRF 300 or possibly a Voge), I'll be in no rush though so hopefully it'll be fine taking my time and sticking to quieter roads.

Tanks for sharing this, a very interesting perspective to hear UK'ers about the Swedish TET. I have ridden it from south and up to the northern connection to TET Norway (and the Norwegian TET). Apart from that i have ridden parts of it in different locations and times. Normally we do our own routes and follow or freebase from. I have also ridden a part of the a lot longer TST (Trans Sweden Trail) and sometimes more demanding (ca 7200Km's in total). Unfortunately i have missed you episodes from the riding, but will look it up! Hopefully i will ride som e of the TET's of UK one day. What kind of accomodation do You recommend for TET UK? Up here i sleep in hammock or windshelter. Happy Trails/ Mattias
@offthetarmac488410 ай бұрын
Hi Mattias. For a hammock you need suitable trees, which can be rather limiting on many sections of the UK TET. I use a small hiking tent.

@@offthetarmac4884 Aahh, so You suggest to combine tent and pubstops?

I have now watched it properly, brilliant. One thing i was wondering about was money and payment i heard in Germany some places wont take any cards that are backed by a credit card outfit, even if they are debit cards. Generally in the sticks though. Did you have any issues paying for petrol anywhere? Did you bother taking loads of local currency?
@offthetarmac488410 ай бұрын
I mainly use a travel debit card onto which I can load money from my phone. I had no problems using that for fuel & food. However, you can just go to any ATM with your UK bank card and draw out local currency.

Another great vid. I live in Norway, and will be doing a bit of the Swedish TET this summer, will be driving down to Gothenburg and head inland until I hit the TET. Just out of interest, what part of your "loop" did you enjoy the most?
@offthetarmac488410 ай бұрын
Hi! I hope you have a great trip. I have no favourite part of the Swedish TET. I thought it was all great. The riding was very varied every day, between woodland and open farmland. I'll definitely be going back to ride it again and hopefully get into Norway next time.
@no6610 ай бұрын
@@offthetarmac4884 thanks, good to know. I did a bit of the first section of the Norwegian TET in the summer. Will do all of it one day, but want to explore a bit of Sweden, and love the Vindskydd shelters possibilities.

Excellent as ever. I am interested in your Vlog set up. Be great to document some of my rides even if it's just for my own records.
@offthetarmac488410 ай бұрын
Hi Andrew. I used a GoPro Hero 9 to record all the footage on this trip. I attach it to the chin piece of my helmet with a Dango Design Gripper mount. That puts the camera microphone right next to my mouth, so I don't use a separate microphone. It's a quick and convenient set up, with no wires and when I'm not filming it clip it on the handlebars out of the way. I can also quickly detach it from my helmet for hand-held filming or clip it somewhere else to get different shots. It's a very simple and easy set up, which I need, as the other guys won't stand around waiting for me to set up cameras!
@andrewlang857510 ай бұрын
@offthetarmac4884 Thanks for this info, I was going to way over complcate my set up. I'll have a play around and see what I can come up with. 👍
@offthetarmac488410 ай бұрын
My experience is that the simpler the set up, the more likely you are to be using it and recording. My philosophy is record, record, record and then you can chose what to use in the edit. If you have very little recorded footage, you don't have much to work with when editing. My 3 x 20 minute videos from the Sweden trip were edited down from over 9 hours of footage. As you will have seen, I decided to mainly focus on the issues with Brian's bike, as that created some drama, tension and human interest. I think this made for a very watchable video, but one unfortunate consequence is that some people think the whole trip was was overshadowed by the CCM breaking down. It most certainly was not. We had lots of great adventures.
@andrewlang857510 ай бұрын
@offthetarmac4884 I thought the issues with Brian's bike did just as you said bringing a bit of drama and maybe frustration. It made it real. I don't ride off road but thoroughly enjoyed the videos. Thanks
