It's a great idea to have this type of line animated. It would be even better to have animated a continuous line (like in whiteboard animation), but you would probably have to use covered up the line and gradually uncover it as you did in your previous video. Unless there is a mask copy of the line (or drawing) broken into sections and gradually revealing the real line. The path function is a great help but still a bit tedious for this type of animation. 👍👍😀

You could probably turn a dashed line into a continuous line just by removing the spaces between the dashes and having each dash scale in width after it appears. There's no way, I'm aware of, you could use a continuous line and have it follow the path since props only attach to points on a path. Once the line gets too long it wouldn't follow the shape of the path. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Much appreciated.

@@animlife I have tested a continuous line (like in whiteboard animation) and it works by creating a mask which covers the whole original line. This mask is then multiplied into individual sprites (each following sprite is the same, just shorter for the amount of the uncovered, e.g. "drawn" line). Depending on how smooth or coarse animation of the "drawn" line one wants to have. The sprite can change every 4 - 6 frames depending also how fast the line is "drawn". The more sprites gives smoother animation. The sprites can be imported as say PSD prop (all in the main folder) into CA5. 😀

Thanks. I hope people find this one particularly useful since it took me a while to work how this was done as well.

Thanks. I'm sure the tutorial will come in useful at some time.

Hopefully so. You could use this technique in many other situations such as explainer videos where you have a progression style diagram etc.

Thanks a lot. I was wondering how they did it. and you make it easy to understand.

Thanks. I'm surprised Reallusion didn't actually show how they did the map path in their demo since they show it quite a lot when promoting the new path features.
