Have you tried a CRUZ XC saddle at all? I am also a big guy and have been wanting to get into a saddle. I see all the reviews saying CRUZ XC is the most comfortable because more material. I just found your channel good stuff keep it up thanks.
@captureoutdoormedia3 жыл бұрын
I have not gotten to try it, but the material looks very similar to the Mantis. That was my first saddle. That material compresses a lot and you’ll feel pressure only on the seatbelt material frame. With the Menace, you’ll feel more even pressure and it won’t feel like your butt sinks in as much. The menace was a lot wider than the mantis, eliminating a lot of the hip punch. At the end of the day, making adjustments in tether height, bridge length, and foot pressure on platform are going to make much more of a difference than the saddle or it’s material.

Thank you that does make sense

Have any of you seen the new Trophyline Wingman coming out? Im not sure if Trophyline and Novix are part of the same company but it looks like they are coming out with a pack of double step mini sticks with a mini platform attached to the top stick.
@captureoutdoormedia3 жыл бұрын
I think they work together to compliment each other’s products. I’m excited about the wingman, I have an OOAL scout platform and it’s the same concept. The OOAL is really small though so the wingman will definitely be more comfortable

One thing I wish all Saddle Manufactures would add is full MOLLE webbing for the entire Saddle

i wear my saddle no matter how far i walk. one thing that stops the sag and sliding down is i have my linesman rope girth hitched on the left loop and than i clip the carabiner to the right linesman loop and tighten it down like a belt and store the tag end into my sys hauler. and also by doing this i can use it as a second adjustable bridge.and for storing your gear Walmart has plastic bins that have a seal and are air tight. i have 3 that hold all my hunting gear, inside i leave fresh earth scent wafers

I'm about the same size. Been waiting to purchase the menace. This was very helpful. I watched your other video too. Which platform do you use. And how do you like it
@captureoutdoormedia3 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks man, I appreciate you watching! I ran the Trophyline mission last year and really enjoyed the plentiful space to move around on it. I think I’ll try out the Trophyline EDP as well. It’s just a tad bit smaller, and easier to pack.
@codykincaid66193 жыл бұрын
@@captureoutdoormedia yeah as a bigger guy I wasn't sure if I should go with packability or a more spacious platform. I'm kinda waiting for the xop edge to release.
@captureoutdoormedia3 жыл бұрын
@@codykincaid6619 I’ve been looking at that one as well. I really like XOP treestands and climbing sticks. I just think Trophyline makes a better post. You can step on it to really sink it the platform and get it steady. XOP, and Tethrd’s XL don’t look as big for the post top

How did you tie your bridge on
@captureoutdoormedia3 жыл бұрын
Cruzr saddles has a video out on how to tie it. I would watch the second version where he shows how to do it by inducing twist into the continuous loop
@captureoutdoormedia3 жыл бұрын
I may do a video on it if people want to see how I did it

How did you go about removing the standard bridge that comes on the menace ?
@captureoutdoormedia3 жыл бұрын
I cut it off with Scissors knowing that the standard bridge wasn’t going to work out. There’s no going back lol

menace made in china too… i returned mine
@captureoutdoormedia3 жыл бұрын
You returned it because it was made in China or some other reason?
@nicholascravens66743 жыл бұрын
@@captureoutdoormedia made in china. and the pic on their website of where my Made in China tag is, is missing it. pretty deceiving. i just bought a cruzr xc instead even their lowest product line is made in Tennessee
@captureoutdoormedia3 жыл бұрын
@@nicholascravens6674 And that is really awesome. I’ve heard good things about Cruzr. But, Tethrd is an American company, employing Americans. I wouldn’t specifically choose to ignore their products specifically because they source from China. To each their own though! The great thing about an open and free market is you get to choose
@nicholascravens66743 жыл бұрын
@@captureoutdoormedia true. i would have got a phantom had it not been for the fact their picture doesnt show the made in china tag on the menace, yet they proudly show the Made in USA on the ones that are. it was more so the deception that got me.
