So ... I obviously don't know everything but I can guess. This is an invitational card. It was tradition that when you won the Magic Invitational WOTC made a card with the player and featuring the player in the art (solemn simulacrum, Dark Confidant, Snapcaster Mage are famous examples). This is a less famous example and because they wanted Mike Long (winner) to be heavily featured in the art but also wanted the card to be a merfolk that caused a really confused piece of art where there are two subjects that should have attention instead of just one. So the art was very intentional ... but maybe not as successful.

Fox i mean we could use the demir commander sygg river cutthroat so we can do this you will have to draw the fugative but thats not a problem since you draw so many cards woth this in addition since sygg has a power if one he can be unblockable amd if you do 3. Or more damage to someone while sygg is in play you get to draw try and experiment with this because i think it can work

I included the Dominaria uncommon legendaries in my Commander-Cube and set the rule so they all have partner. And its amazing the combinations are all great some of course more than others but hey its cube. Once i had a Tetsuko Thyma Deck, turn one Mother of runes, turn two Tesuko, turn three Thymna and draw 2.

Some people with VERY tuned lists say that 2 cmc is too slow for an Edric attacker and that flying is enough evasion. I don't play against Edrics that are THAT TUNED often. As an Edric player, what do you think about this?

Jumbo Commander my deck runs it just fine tbh. Flying isn't really enough evasion sometimes in my playgroups. Its nice to reliably get through to draw those cards

Jumbo Commander 2 mana still comes in before Edric. I also use Edric as a value engine by using ETB creatures and then hitting players with them. Something that lets, say an Elvish Visionary hit each turn is incredible. Flying is not always enough if you play againt Dragons or Unesh or Angels...

One subspecies of blue creatures that I'd recommend would be creatures with "Water Breathing" (one blue/colorless: Creature gets -1/+1 or +1/-1 until end of turn.). Creatures like Water Servent, Aetherling, and Shorecrasher Elemental can be pumped up to 1 toughness or slimed down to 1 power. Either way, they'll be unblockable. Personally, i'd prefer to swing with a 7/1 over a 1/7 any day.

Actually thing that happened recently, someone played Elesh Norn while I played my Tetsuko deck, so not long after I played Rapid hybridization: Destroy it and give you a 3/3 Frog Lizard for 1U.

I think they missed a trick in not making Tetsuko black and blue, maybe switching her with Rona in the set in term of colours. Blue alone with a focus on small numbers is just a bit meh. If you want that kind of thing, obviously you have Edric but even Phyrexian Ezuri does the job well. Plus, Blue/Black are kinda missing low-to-the-ground aggro commanders. Rona was just a bit disappointing for me, maybe I'm still a bit salty for how meh her ability is in comparison to the Vorthos and art.

I've enjoyed Sygg River Cutthroat as a dimir aggro commander in the past. I am sad there isn't more design space with Tetsuko only in monoblue but I have enjoyed the brewing process.

I love your decks man. They always have such a basis in fun. This build gives me so much nostalgia. When I was new to the game playing kitchen top casual I ran a UR spellslinger deck with Cephalid Constable and Surrakar Spellblade with things like Reckless Charge and distortion strike. I would love to get back to the spirit of that in EDH. I had glossed over this commander in first looking at it but, like so many, you've made me excited and considering building this.

My main problem is most of these creatures have flying already. If your playgroup has few flyers nothing changed at all. Your creatures would have gone through already. My other issue is stocking up on a bunch of one toughness cards is just asking to get wiped by the weakest of red and black removal. Your opponent doesn't even need turn 3 to deal 1 across the board and some decks like dinos can do it repeatedly.

Edric is better ... but people know Edric and they should kill your commander over and over instantly and as a group. This might fly under the radar and get you some more interesting wins. Tetsuko is my choice.

LOL. You should see it in my Edric deck. Just this week, I smacked people with a bunch of evasive weenies, prowled Notorious Throng for 11 fairies, during the extra turn dropped EWit and got Notorious Throng back (getting another 20+ fairies), then during my second extra turn dropped Beastmaster's Ascension and swung for the kill. I love Notorious Throng.

I use her im my satoru umezawa commander deck. I got a lot of 1 defense ninjas with "dealt damage to player" abilities. Shes definetely a great early card to play before i go and ninjitsu in silver fur with thousand faces shadow or copy him wirh myojin of cryptic dreams.

Eldrazi monument? Have enough token generators to feed eldrazi monument. Making your army flying and indestructible now your commander has an additional layer coating of protection. May loose unblockable but when you have 5-20 2/2 flying indestructible creatures.... Monument is a back up if something happens to commander

Very Cool ideas on this deck. The moment they spoiled Tetsuko I was like new creature for the Edric deck. I traded my Blighted Agent out LOL for Tetsuko; Infect brought to much heat on Edric and Tetsuko is a rogue so she can count for Notorious Throng, just like Edric and also another legendary for Karn Temporal Sundering. The synergies in Edric are just nuts but Dayumm Jumbo digging the card choices here'ah for Tetsuko:p

I have really wanted to build this deck, but stuff like Golgari Charm (or deal 1 damage to each creature) is quite common in my metagame, which almost becomes a one-sided boardwipe. With 1/1 tokens that's not that big of a deal, because you can usually make more easily, but when your mainline threats are vulnerable to that, I think I would have problems. Do you have any suggestions on how to shore up against such attacks?

With all that card draw, maybe Chasm Sulker? All those little 1/1 squids if they pop it. Or after a nasty boardwipe, drag your handy rogue back and turn the little monsters sideways in retribution. Failing all that, he is a handy little chump that almost always brings out one or two for its value. Almost always have one in my blue commanders. That and Reef Worm.

Made this into an energy/infect deck with thrummingbird, small infect creatures, and stuff like that. Combine it with artifact synergies to duplicate your small number of eligible creatures and that thing would go off. Added in lots of combat card draw. If you weren’t winning on infect, or energy pay offs with electrostatic pummeler or Aetherworks Marvel, you could draw your entire deck and lab maniac out of the game. This commander allows so many strategies with these interesting cards. Tetsuko and Feldon of the Third Path are my favorite commanders for that exact reason. I’m always buying new cards for these to swap out and adapt to different metas.

Testuko makes portals that are too small for big equipment, even a Short Sword can't fit (unless the creature holding it is as tiny as a germ). But her family heirloom weapon can fit through easy!

Hey Dj trepanation blade wouldn't exactly be great for the deck only because it procs on the creature attacking so it happens before no blockers can be declared. So theoretically the creature would get the power boost but it wouldn't get the ability from the commander

Tetsuko is a great card, but I never thought of using them in this way. I just wish Tetsuko was a B/BL indeed of just mono blue. But Tetsuko is great when it comes to rats.

I built my own version of this deck and used it in my local Commander Tournament. I managed to steal my opponents best creatures, Destroy all of his lands and attack for lethal in one game. The next game I managed to mill two opponents entire decks at the same time while having Mindshrieker grow to a huge power and toughness at the same time. Fun fact is that the merfolk rogue sygg river cutthroat has a magic power number it use's for card draw that number is 3 also with all this card draw you could utilize chasm skalker whic if it dies you can get an army of 1/1 squids theres a lot and i love this deck not only for the effect but the idea of useing 1 power or 1 toughness creatures to overwhelm the opponent

Can try gatherer just by listing the creatures by power, or by toughness and it starts with lowest to the top :). I was thinking the lings could be good closers or even defenders it needed be by lowering power to add to toughness. Beguiler of Wills, Chasm skulker, bronze bombshell, or even Empress Galina are amazing considerations imo. Coralhelm Guide is a good back up plan for your creatures in a sense...but out of them all...and it speaks for itself **Fatespinner***

Cipher is crazy, last night buddy played that cipher card that duplicates a creature, than placed the cipher part on a unblockable creature and than got another one when he attacked. LOL I have had that card all this time and I never knew you could choose any creature each time you cipher because I figured it would only cipher the creature it was on;)

I also like Orochi Hatchery, all the tokens will be unblockable and trigger effects like coastal piracy! It's a late game card for sure, but even if you get only 3 counters on it the value can build up.

You've inspired me to build this deck. I had a modern UG infect deck so I just took some of the blue cards, some of the best equipments and all of the proliferate cards I could find. I'm using some cards like Astral cornucopia, ever flowing chalice, decimator web, unwinding clock, and lighthouse chronologist to take advantage of the proliferate ability. My deck also has a heavy thopter subtheme with a janky mechanized production wincon just in case lol. Thanks for the inspiration Jumbo!
