you spoke about needing to be really explosive with Neheb. @JumboCommander7 жыл бұрын
He's AWESOME to play ... he does get targeted a little more often these days than when I first brought him to the commander table. The deck has slowed down since I'm much more careful about running him out ... but he still GOES OFF!

Great video! I'm really glad Wizards is starting to print some high quality mono-red commanders. Now people might stop saying it's the worse color for the format. A few extra suggestions: Staff of Nin is a bit expensive but it's reliable card advantage that has the benefit of pinging, either to get rid of pesky 1-toughness critters or for an extra mana with Neheb. Grenzo, Havoc Raiser is a cheap little creature that can really mess with the board left unchecked. The goad ability is extra gravy to force/deter attacks, but his second ability almost guarantees you something to sink your mana into (or at worse, it removes a potential threat or engine piece from your opponent).
@tylorrust29997 жыл бұрын
I'm currently building a Neheb burn deck. Absolutely love the idea oh the synergy with this guy.
@GuardianAngelEatos7 жыл бұрын
Yeah honestly at first thought I wasn't excited even though I knew how he would work and that he probably will end up being a very good commander, but now after seeing this deck tech I want to build a deck around Neheb! Although burn is probably a much better build since you can get damage the turn you play the card instead of having to wait for your creatures too attack, and It's less likely that your burn spells will get countered than your creatures getting killed, I will probably build a heavy combat build since I'm not a fan of winning with burn damage, not to mention a deck build around burn. Great video! I always enjoy watching your deck techs!

A card I've had great success with in Goblin decks, as well as Elf decks on a budget, that run out of steam for card advantage is Slate of Ancestry. 4 mana for an artifact with the activated ability, 4, discard your hand, tap it, Draw a card for each creature you control. In a creature heavy deck that can dump its hand out, like Krenko or Ezuri, you just discard extra lands or, sometimes, nothing at all and draw all gas for the rest of the turn.
@JumboCommander7 жыл бұрын
Some great tech! Thanks
@albertarvadottosen35127 жыл бұрын
Instead of using Furnace of Rath or Dictate of the Twin Gods, consider Insult to Injury, the new aftermath card from Amonketh. Usually, a well timed Insult should be able to seal the game, without the risky downside of mirrored effects. Another card i find super important is Past in Flames. I will look forward to Insult twice (or even more with pyromancers goggles) in the first main phase, deal like two damage to each opponent and start multiplying, as my poor opponents start to scoop up their cards! xD
@JumboCommander7 жыл бұрын
I'm using insult / injury in the tappedout list but not past in flames. I think you are on to something. I'd be sure to use past in flames if I was a little heavier in spells but the version. Great suggestion!
@jamaigar7 жыл бұрын
This is a great sugestion :D Insult works great as a damage-doubler that won't make the table freak out and comes out of nowhere. Great idea ^^ I also agree with past in flames. With this much mana generation, this could have some decent storm psynergy, and if not it's card advantage, in red, and with a mana generation engine that allows you to take real advantage of it :D there is also commune with lava, which is kinda crappy, but generating a ton of mana (specially in a storm deck) could work kinda well.
@Belphegor9267 жыл бұрын
When I first saw Neheb, the Eternal, I kinda skimmed over the 'for each 1 life your opponentS have lost this turn." Emphasis on the plural. Now, all I want is to build a spell-slinging voltron Neheb deck that sets everything on fire using copious amounts of mana. Been on my mind for days now, so this video had perfect timing!
@jamaigar7 жыл бұрын
I also thought of the voltron strategy. He definitively needs a ton or protection, so why not going full voltron? Also red has some good psinergies with artifacts, so you could take profit of that to generate value and card advantage with all your swords. I just hope that that awesome fire lance Neheb has gets its own card xd
@Belphegor9267 жыл бұрын
Jamaigar gar yea, getting that lance would be sweet! I'm aware of red's inherent synergy with artifacts, but I'm personally a bit sick of it. Playing Neheb as some kind of mix between beating face in and spellslinging is just what would appeal to me lol but also, red sucks with ramp. Having a Commander that theoretically lets you leap in mana for a turn sounds fantastic and hilarious lol
@jamaigar7 жыл бұрын
well red has a lot of good one time ramp spells :P i totally get what you say. I have a daretti deck and although i love It, i dont trully feel like i'm playing a red deck, and kinda makes me sad. Lately the most exciting moments for me with that deck are playing big cool red stuff like infierno titan or rolling earthquake. The combustible gearhulk also makes me giggle, and i love It can work here too :P
@Belphegor9267 жыл бұрын
Jamaigar gar It does, but none of them make like 9-12 mana for 2-3 lol You've gotta essentially storm off to do that lol Yea, I've got a Feldon of the Third Path deck. While it's fun, I'm just not an artifact guy and I've taught my meta to punish graveyard reliance. Now I'll build Neheb and punish them for playing slow, too lol
@jamaigar7 жыл бұрын
i like how that sounds xd i also would try to punish my meta with neheb for... ill think of a reason :P for not hailing to the great Nicol Bolas, i Guess

This is definitely right up there as my most anticipated commander card from HOU(tied with the locust god), seems very broken, and I'm looking very forward to building a very similar deck, thanks for the upload.
@samb1230787 жыл бұрын
I just realized that the mana you get in the post combat main phase is for the whole turn. So if you only have Neheb out and hit someone for 4, use four to cast seize the day, you get 8 red mana on your second main phase. If you flash it back then the 3rd main you get 12!
@Njilin7 жыл бұрын
I've made a really fun Neheb deck, which focuses mostly on spellcasting and using all of the available additional combat phases spells. I don't include lifegain hate since I have spells like Banefire, Demonfire and a lot of spells like Increasing Vengeance, Wild Ricochet and Reverbate and Reiterate in order to ensure that I can just flat out obliterate them. Neheb doesn't burn people to death, he goes supernova and just flat out deletes them.
@Njilin7 жыл бұрын
Also. As an alternative to Dictate of the Twin Gods, try using Curse of Bloodletting, it only affects one opponent, but it'll do wonders for Neheb's manabase.

A friend of mine runs both Dictate and Furnace with Relentless Assault. Whether the opponent blocks, he still generates 6. Uses 5 extra combat. Generates 7, uses 5, extra combat. You get the point.
@jamaigar7 жыл бұрын
Great of greatest deck tech! The red player that burns inside of me is very pleased :3 i wasn't sure if Neheb was going to work in multiplayer, cause red kinda lacks card advantage to make real use of the ramp, but i didn't really consider the use of mana sinks, burn and the possibility of generating super big spells or casting ultra big creatures. My idea for Neheb was to allow 1vs1 big red strategies, controlling the board at the beginning of the game and later ramping into good mid-range creatures and walkers with neheb, and throwing them to the field 2 at a time.
@Kaluzzay6 жыл бұрын
As a Neheb player let me just put here some things that have been missing. Akroma, angel of fury, just as inferno titan but WAY better. Pump one of them for a lot of power and cast Chandra's Ignition for massive extinction. Kozilek, Butcher of Truth gives you draws. Strionic resonator to copy neheb ability or even kozilek's xD Doubling cube for double mana. Reverberate and even Howl of the horde to copy 2x a big spell. By force and Vandalblast to wipe artifacts Tower of fortunes as a mana sink for draws If you dont feel like its enough, run that disruption: Blood Moon, Stranglehold, and my favorite: Price of Glory to punish those people disturbing you during your turn Peace (:

@JumboCommander7 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. Just make sure to have a lot of card draw to back up that strategy because burn decks can get empty handed in 20 life 1v1 games so we need more gas for 40 life multiplayer games.

Love your videos. You present clearly and concisely. I also appreciate the slideshow format. Nothing worse than watching a deck tech on a tabletop with glare occluding the cards. Some suggestions for the deck: Quest of the Pure Flame....it's a one-shot, but it's cheap, and it hits the whole board; Staff of Nin....Consistent card draw with a little damage; obviously Mind's Eye, if money doesn't matter. If it does, then Farsight Mask is a budget friendly option. I'd also run Loxodon Warhammer and Basilisk Collar to offset some of the hate you're likely to pull your way.

I have been tweaking the hell out of this deck and I have made it into a monster. Put any fast mana you can: sol ring, grim monolith, mana vault, mana crypt, seething song etc. you want Neheb out by turn three at the latest. Then you want to nuke all the lands and/or protect Neheb. With the extra mana he makes plus your fast mana rocks, you don't need any lands to cast spells. The final lock is getting a ward of bones out. Put a inventor's fair in to tutor for it and never play a land again. Either your opponents beat you with what they have on broad or constantly broad wipe with earthquake effects (wildfire doubles as MLD and broad wipe) or they scoop. Not very nice, but very very potent. And everyone needs a deck like that to work out any frustrations from other games.

Jumbo Commander I can use this deck twice in one game night or people throw things at me. It doesn't do that well in 1v1. Even a turn two Neheb can't ramp that much without all those opponents to feed mana to him. Sizzle is now just 3 mana for 3 damage in 1v1.
