My hubby and I have lived in Tewkesbury for just over a year, and I love it. It's so picturesque and quaint with the lovely historical buildings, the River Avon and the Abbey. Sadly we are moving on to new pastures in a couple of weeks, and I will miss this beautiful little town.

I spent a year as a child in 1940 evacuated from the blitz in Bristol. I lived with. Mothers cousin at a garage on high street. Garage at back for coaches. I went to school. I think it was called Trinity. Love Tewkesbury . So much history.

I live in Tewkesbury. Thanks for the great video showcasing out town. Please remember that even the bricked face of a building, hides the real tudor front. There's more trader buildings here than you see.!

Thanks for the walkthrough of this town. My ancestors left there in the 1700s to move to America. I am sure it is vastly different now compared to then but it was nice to see some of the buildings that would have been around back then.

Really enjoyed this walk as I spent time in Tewkesbury while in the UK. Absolutely loved it. One of my strongest memories. Stayed at beautiful Jessop House close to the Abbey.

I'm fortunate enough to have e a static caravan near this beautiful town . This is only a glimpse of its beauty . You can spend hours walking the back streets & the little walks(gulleys) . The Abbey has a tower which can be visited , if you can walk up very many steps, the views of the countryside are amazing ! The Abbey was bought by the townspeople after the Reformation to prevent Henry VIII razing it to the ground . There is so much history here , it could fill a book

Really Lovely video, hope you don't mind me pointing this out but the Mill (Healings Mills) that appears at the beginning of the video was built for Samuel Healing in 1865. The Mill that the Monks occupied and produced flour is Abbey Mill which is located on the Avon which is by the Bell Hotel.

We've been to Tewkesbury several times and will be there having cream teas as soon as the sun comes back again......The windows?, if they arn't naturally warping, the only other reason I could think is that if the glare from these windows is too bright on a sunny day to see in to the place, then if they are slightly angled, then that would take away the direct glare and reflection of peoples faces when trying to look in.........just a guess........on reflection!.

Absolutely fantastic to see you in Tewkesbury but I have to say that I was very disappointed that you just stuck to the Main Street leaving so many unbelievable sights unexplored, I understand that you have time issues but what you showed was, in my opinion just a teaser ! @@karenking4271 it was the HQ of Tewkesbury Royal British Legion Club, the building belongs to The Abbey Lawn Trust. It was originally two buildings, the windows are the effect of pressure of the weight of the building over the years. Inside there were one or two strengthining pillars that had been fitted at some point.

Very nice, though there is much, much more to see in the back lanes. It's good to see the High Street more or less fully occupied by shops and businesses, in the early 90s it seemed to be dying on its feet. I lived in Tewkesbury for a few years as a kid (on Priors Park estate, not such a pretty part of the town!) and it's interesting to compare it from then (1971) to now. In reality not much has changed, though it's busier. I took part in the 1971 parade marking 500 years since the Battle of Tewkesbury, and some amateur video of that can be viewed here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIjYmXuFjNNoqK8si=h7hB7kdzLifLUdth. The Royal Hop Pole is mentioned in Dickens' Pickwick Papers, and Tewkesbury Cross in A.E Houseman's A Shropshire Lad.

a new fresh video to entertain and relax. best regards from...home¡¡¡ in an ocassion i asked you if you would be interested in knowing where i am contacting you from. and also i am pleased to say that i am always trying to use traditional english language, avoiding as much as possible the nowadays "distorted" ¿english language? the same is happening to spanish language. too many "modern" sentences, idioms, and phrases that have nothing to do with the spanish language are being introduced to get the contrary effect about upgrading the language of spain and many, many other countries. just have a look at yours. unbeleivable, though i am concerned that any languaje has amendments from time to time. but that is something quite different, take for example "i´m gonna do it" instead of and taking place to "i am going to do it". i regret to say that usa influence is the most responsible as far as errors, mistakes and modern "new fountains" of both menioned lnguages, is concerned, as well as its subsequent tracking back. and let me to insist. if you are somehow interested in kowing where i am writing from, i shall be pleased to let you know, but only if you ask me about such a funny matter. or, perhaps you could start by making your suggestion and i would replay if you would your bet is right or not. just for fun, of course. have a good time with i imagine your heavy camera and unbeatable walking tours. take notice: my country has nothing to do with u.k. i have never been abroad except many years ago, when i visited germany for three weeks when their currency still was the deutsche mark. and that is all. have a nice evening¡¡¡

Yet another would be attractive town almost devoid of foliage,flora or trees.Again why,I ask , do the English so hate natural beauty. Imagine this place as a French German or Italian town !The Abbey grounds are fine but the streets???

Tewkesbury has many beautiful natural spaces, this was a tiny snapshot. A nature reserve, secret gardens, parks, vineyards, the Ham, riverside walks, flood plains, battle walks.
