Hunter started this season kind of slowly. He had plenty of points scored against him on Powerball and he suffered his first defeat on The Wall in 4 years in this episode. That said, this episode featured two more strong male contenders for season 7. They made it up the Wall in 21 seconds! And their Eliminator was quite close.

Not the only time something like that happened with Wolf, I think he was the producers' go-to guy if they wanted a contender to get a victory, either by being out-classed or by throwing it. The amount of times he "fell off" The Wall was more than a little suspicious.

The production staff often done things to rig the games. Like picking gladiators that would give contenders the most or least chance in games as well as varying the speed of the travellator at the end.
