Texaco West Stars 1966 ..wmv

In Celebration of " Women In Pan " Month of March I have Posted this Photo to Honor our two Female Players from the era of the late 60's , they being Heloise " Ray " Steele and Jacqueline Harvey . Jacqueline migrated shortly after to further her Studies and Ray being there from the inception in 1964 continued to be an Excellent Pan Woman . Thanks and Congrats to these Wonderful Ladies for their Contributions and to Ray in particular for Her devotion and Dedication to our Band and the Steel Band Movement in General .

Being the Ladies Gentleman I was honored to be there in the front row on Tenor Pan flanked by Ray on my Left and Jacqueline on my right . The music is from the Record " Texaco on Steel 1966 " of West Stars playing DO RE MI from the film " The Sound Of Music ".

And there I am near the conga player with the maracas in my hands Ralph Edwards from Penal who was a secret admirer of Jacqueline .. I can recognise Squibby, Edsel, Ray, Steve Regis and some others who names I cannot remember.. this picture was taken on the hill above the panyard ..I would like to do a documentary of the band with some of the members ... It was hard for me not to be able to continue playing pan like Ray. I'm a retired RN now. Lovely memories.

@@jacquelineharvey8776 .....Greetings. Just saw your post so I feel happy to reply for we had a wonderful time in the youth movement and the band. I remember you had a sister who was in the group so give her my greetings . Enjoy your retirement for I'm also one after many decades in refining at FedChem and Texaco / Petrotrin PAP.
