I stopped caring about bad calls in the NFL when the Bills went ahead late in the 3rd quarter vs the Chiefs on a missed pick play earlier this year and not a single MFer cared. The worst part about the soft calls is that it does the complete opposite of what the intended effect is. There’s a motivation to protect players with these calls being here, sure. But when soft stuff like that gets called, what incentive does a defense have to play clean? Trevor Lawrence got decapitated by Al-Shaair earlier this year, and that was worth the exact same in yards in that game despite the fact Lawrence had his season ended. What’s stopping Buffalo or Baltimore from using a third string guy to late hit Mahomes early and take him out of the game when the value of the penalty is the same either way? Why should defenses try to value the safety of the offensive players at all? It doesn’t even have to be against Kansas City, but against any opponent in the playoffs. Why should any defense value their safety? Houston lost the game for their own things, yes. But it’s indisputable that the reffing altered the game in Kansas City’s favor.

Houston’s O-line was and has been 💩 the entire season but you can’t deny that there were some bad calls during this game that swayed it in the Chiefs favor. Not saying that Texans would’ve won otherwise, they made many mistakes but the refs did have a factor

@BehindTheVale there was also bad calls in the Texans favor. Refs are just bad, unfortunately, and the narrative is only gonna get worse until the league addresses the inconsistencies between crews. That's human error though, hard to fix that. They need to do what the XFL did and have a crew watching every game and confirming calls, with the ability to overturn them.

As a chiefs fan I will admit that the refs we're terrible this game. But the Texans had no response to the chiefs defense. They had multiple oppurtinties to win this game and they couldn't take any of them. I'm sure stroud will be back next year, but as for the chiefs 7 STRAIGHT AFC CHAMPIONSHIP APPEARANCES IN A RUN.
