Knight was having a really great game until he became seemingly overly-anxious and had those fumbles. The fumbles killed the momentum of his team. Then, of course, Alabama took over. The key to Alabama is that they go hard full-game, and the opponents "wear down." I would love to see Louisville and Alabama face-off. I have always believed and still do that the team with the best QB--providing the refs call the game fairly--WINS. In this game, Hurts was the best QB.

I love hard hitters and im a bama fan but by the rulebook that was targeting. They need to take targeting out because there have been more concusions since targeting was implemented and they implemented it to reduce them but concusions have almost doubled since then

"By the rulebook" virtually ALL tackles would be targeting. If the crown of your helmet hits another player on any part of their body, it's "targeting." Agree they need to take it out. Concussions haven't doubled ... reported concussions have doubled. If you've been through a concussion protocol you'll know why. And TV commentators should enhance the game experience rather than lobby officials to make a call against a team they hate. The rulebook is so vague, weird, and crazy I'm almost certain the refs don't understand it and I'm absolutely certain that I don't. I read Rule 9-1-3 and thought I had a loose handle on it, and then I read Rule 9-1-4, which is where things got a little muddied. So I read "Note 1," which is referenced in Rule 9-1-3, which is basically an addendum to Rule 9-1-3 (or is it Rule 9-3-1?) and then I read "Note 2," which is referenced in Rule 9-1-4 and contains examples of what constitutes a "defenseless" player, as found in Rule 2-27-14 and 9-6, and my conclusion is that defensive backs should only be allowed to play two-hand touch or maybe flag football. There are so many qualifiers and contingencies for the rule, with numerous explanations and "indicators" that it has become impossibly broad and subjective; it's always going to be problematic. Players have to consider all these things in a millisecond, on the fly, and refs have several minutes and replays to figure it out and they still don't always get it right.

Alec Shunnarah. Agree with you however we have to look at the statistical numbers. Bama is number one in the nation on rush defense while Auburn is number 30th in the nation among FBS schools. On rushing offenses Bama is nationally ranked 9th in the nation while Auburn is 3rd in the nation. So here you have the number one rush defense going up against the number 3 rush offense in the nation. Bama is 62nd on passing offense in the nation while Auburn is 96th in the nation among FBS schools. Alec, you can clearly see the match up here. If Bama can stop the run they pretty much should win. If they can't stop Auburn run game Auburn should win. The X-factor is how well each team throw the ball. Alabama's run game is their offense. Hurts is a very good QB considering that he is a freshman. QB, but the run is their mainstay. Stop the run, and you stop Alabama. No one has been able to do so this season, however.
