Nice photos. You were right. They love their neon and Dr Pepper it seems. I love neon as well. And their is a museum of neon art in California. I also want to go to the Museum of Bad art in Boston.

Very cool :).. Did you happen to go inside that Walgreens and see if they had any of that Kodak 400 in the 24 exposure rolls in a 3 pack lol. It seems every time I go into a walgreen I see that 3 pack of Kodak on the rack lol. I got lucky one time I found a store that had it on sale for like 20 bucks or something and grabbed a box of 3 rolls.. Turned out I really liked the darn stuff lol. I should have bought a couple of boxes . Great photos thanks for sharing them :)

Portra 800 certainly does neon very well - great images Dave. That was definitely a strange museum, Lon Chaney Sr. as the Phantom used to freak me out as a kid, thanks for that flashback :)

Another great set of photos l love how you expertly align the video with your pictures. I've tried a couple of the 800 films recently and it is so good to be able to shoot so many hand held, although the cost of Portra in the UK does tend to limit my use.

Usually, once a month, I’ll dust off my old Canon F1 (leftover from my days as a news shooter going back to the 80s-late 90s) and throw in a roll of Fuji 400 neg and to really see if I still have my shooting skills, I’ll pop off a few rolls of Velvia. Great portfolio of work of my beloved Texas 🤠👍

Great video! I'm glad that you got to visit the Lone Star State. How did you like it? Do you think you would ever make another trip to Texas? My goal is to start traveling more myself and visit places I have not seen yet so that I can capture it on film. If you ever get a chance to visit again, we have a lot of photography activities going on in September and October in the Dallas area. (Polocon, Film walks, State Fair of Texas photo walks, Holga Week photo walks, and more). Looking forward to more of your videos!

Can't go to Texas without a stop at Buc-ees. And we'll soon have one here in Ohio (Vandalia, north of Dayton, on I-75 of course). Hardest part is finding a gas pump 🤣. Good job on the night pics, Dave.

Do you shoot on ISO 800? I was recommended to shoot Potra 800 in artificial light with ISO 400. What do you prefer?

I either shoot it at 800 or 640. I believe I shot these at 640. My Canon EOS cameras have a 640 setting.
