Hi John/all - I have an 05 OEM top with glass. Recently I had some paint work done and when I picked up the car, after driving off, I noticed the soft top was drooping in back of it and never was before. I have not made my way back to the body shop to talk to them. What I noticed was the 3rd frame rail (hoop) can be pushed towards the back of car about 6 inches and then everything tightens up. I then noticed I have two narrow straps just hanging down on both sides off of the 3rd hoop. I can see at very back of the fabric of the soft top there is a piece of fabric that sticks out with a hole in it on both sides....looks like definitely this is where these two straps were connected to. The flaps look like on a kite where you attach the string to...I don't know how the strap connects nor how mysteriously this is an issue after just getting work done ...somethings obviously fell out on both sides (rivets, etc) that attached the strap to the flap.....anyone ever heard of this before? fyi, this is not the same straps as the ones in this video.

Those two straps should attach to the back to hold that bar in place. Message me on IG if you’d like me to come explain further.

I’ve been told that Honda no longer get makes the soft tops …. And Robbins is what’s available now. Is this true ?

It’s no true. They are very slow in production but still have them coming in.

Any info on those headrest speakers? I'd love something like that. Wonder if it would make sense to just get an amplifier for my afternarket speakers, or to get headrest speakers and no amplifier.

The headrest speakers were a factory option (in the UK at least, not sure about elsewhere). If you check eBay you might find a set, or maybe a dealer can still get hold of some??

So i have a question. What do you guys do to get the rear defroster working? I had my top replaced by a shop after getting into an accident and idk what they did but my defroster hasnt worked since then. It wasnt an oem soft top btw

If the top has a defroster built in, it’s most likely it was never plugged back in. Look behind the drivers seat for the wiring harness that should have two spade connectors on the end. It doesn’t matter which way it connects.

Since I live in Texas I gotta ask where is his front license plate? I would really like to get rid of the front plate on my S2000, as the car looks so much better without it.

California also requires front plates, but many people still remove them. I've driven my s2k around for about 4 years before an officer stopped me specifically for that. I told him I bought the car without it, lol. He checked my registration, DL etc and just told me to get front plates and I was on my way.

itsToon It's sometimes a case of , 'Ask for forgiveness not permission' It was the same law in England. I used to carry the front plate inside the car, when I get pulled over I would say it fell and I need new bolts.. It worked many months until the same cop pulled me over and remembered me....lol

I also live in Texas and I don’t use a front license plate. Its in my glove box. I put it on yesterday for inspection then took it off when I got home. I have never been pulled over because of it

DammitDan If you google it you can usually reset it yourself.

LHTPerformance for the google fix, its for ap1 and the 2004 ap2. you can't use the paper clip for 2005 and up. I'll just take it to the dealership to have it reset I suppose :|

Engine oil=mobile 1 with oem filter That's John's preference but he's said to use whichever you prefer. I've seen a video or 2 lol

Penguin Hacker Engine oil I use Mobil 1 and an OEM filter. What ever you use, change it often. The best I’ve found for then S2000 trans is Royal Purple syncomax. Look for one of our video called, ‘ make your S2000 shift awesome’
