Texas Jetty Fish are MASSIVE! Everything IS Bigger in Texas! | First Time Fishing Texas Jetty |

Saltwater Jetty fishing is one of the best ways to get on some HUGE FISH! This is my first day jetty fishing in Texas and I’m hoping to get on some of those legendary big fish! We’re looking for some huge Jacks, or maybe even a Bull Redfish! Either way, I’m ready to have a great day of fishing with Erin and some local friends on the jetty in Texas.

roughly 40+ years ago my brother and I used to fish this jetty and it was all just broken rock you had to cross to get where you are(the walk had not been paved yet). We would get in on bull red runs and have caught 45+lb reds there. Funny you talking about slipping our little brother begged us into tagging along on one trip and just as the bite started and we got the first fish to the jetty my little brother slipped and split his head open. We had to pack up and take him to the hospital where he left with 7 stitches. Both brothers are now fishing with the angels but this video brought back many memories TY.

The water at Surfside, TX is discolored from the Brazos River mouth that feeds into the Gulf about 5 miles Southwest of the jetty you are on. The Brazos has been on flood or near flood for most of the time from Hurricane Harvey in 2017 until summer of 2021. That dumped a massive ammount of silt and clay into the nearshore an only a little wind stirs it up. Also the Texas coast has much higher energy winds than Florida.

I used to fish a lot when I was younger. My friends all worked on the fishing boats so I never had to to pay to fish and we knew all the great spots off the beach and piers and jetty. Enjoyed this video! I was actually in Galveston, fishing in the surf 4/20-4/23. It was so windy, gusting over 25 mph. All I caught from the surf were catfish and some whiting. Keep doing your stuff and welcome to Texas!

Hey You Two, Another great video. You guys always find some nice and long jetties to fish from. It also seems like every fish you all catch have teeth. About the only fish around here that have anything like teeth are the catfish with the sandpaper mouth and gar. I've told you before I've been watching your past videos. Great video. I've been watching you and beach bomber since forever. Whenever you come back down to Texas, you should definitely try the rivers going down the spillway into Galveston bay . They hold huge alligator gar! Tons of fun to catch. Fresh dead chunk mullet and crappie is the best candy!

Whoat! Glad to see ya get onto some Red Fish and sharks are every where. Yep here in the upper coast of Texas the water is dirty/sandy compared to FL because of the Mississippi river coming down from North MN. If you went offshore about 10-12 miles it would be clear like Florida. Then again towards the Southern tip of Texas, towrds Port Isabel it's clean and green with Pompano and all.
