I'm not supporting reckless use of eminent domain but it's also a bit hyperbolic to frame it as purely stealing because "just compensation" is required. I understand sometimes the land owners don't think any compensation could be just because they would never sell. I can't help but think there may be some alternatives for water in this case although they might be far more expensive based solely on the market value of the land.

I was going to write about my family's dealings with Black Rock, and our generational farms, but I doubt anyone wants to read this history. Suffice to say: THIS is a long time plan to STOP Private American food production, from the small homestead to the large farms. It is now combined with the 15 minute Cities, and the total control of the ONLY Country in the world with REAL Constitutional Protection against the Governments plans. If people don't fight back, we all lose. MANY farmers, Ranchers etc. live on such a tight budget, it's almost impossible to pay for attorney fees... EVERYONE needs to think of their food and water, where it comes from, and help protect the farmers, UNLESS you don't mind eating lab grown meat, and DNA\GMO altered fruits and vegetables... First, take away privately owned land under eminent domain under false pretenses to either build homes( increase tax revenue and fatten wallets) or build the reservoir so they can sell water to the DFW area ( big revenue). Second, is to break up privately owned farming and make the land available to large corporations for large influx of tax revenue from the corporations ( industrial farming) Cargill, Tyson etc. would then save millions in shipping product to large population areas ( DFW, San Antonio, Houston, Austin) these markets alone would eat up everything they produce. The government did the same thing in the 70's in NW Ark, they declared the Buffalo river a "National River" and forced families who had farmed the same land for generations to sell. One family the Claggets tried to hold out, signing an agreement that would allow them to stay one their land as long as a family member lived there, however when the father died the Parks dept came in and forced them , within a few hours to vacate.

George Parkhouse ll Reservoir, if built, will supply water for Dallas. In that process, the area I have my home in will end up underwater. This area is high in agriculture. It grows cotton, soy, corn, sunflowers, maze, milo, corn, etc etc. Ever since I found out about this proposed lake and how it will negatively impact a lot of folks, I've had almost every emotion you can think of.

You can buy endangered veggie seeds but I don’t think there’s much protection for them. Saw a 2012 article saying 93% of unique veggie seed varieties have been lost in the last 80 years. Been hearing of plants being patented… been hearing of farmers having to purchase new seeds every year instead of using the ones from their produce that’s more adapted to their hardiness zone in case of cross pollination from a bee flying from a patented crop. People need to learn to deeply saturate their soil with toxins before leaving their land.

Just the same as too much medicine becomes toxic, y'know. Same concept as how bread is very healthy for you, but if you eat too much bread too often, you start getting fat. It's important to have a balanced diet. Of course, different people's bodies have different dietary needs.

Texas just built Bois D Arc lake in Bonham and Ralph Hall lake is under construction near LaDonia. I'm torn on lake builds. There is tremendous growth in Central and North Central Texas and these lakes aren't just supplying the nearest cities. These lakes supply water to cities 50-100 miles away. the also took land to build that magnet speed train between Houston and Dallas. We have a 4th generation farm that's being consumed by sprawling housing additions and the school district has purchased the land behind us. We used to be 10 miles outside the city limits. The city used to be 9K people in the late 80's and now it's over 220K people and still growing. And the surrounding cities are growing at the same rate or faster.

An area in NW New Jersey and NE Pennsylvania on the Delaware River was basically seized by Eminent Domain in order to build “Tocks Island Dam” to supply hydro electricity to Greater Metro NYC … Thousands of farms, homes and cottages were preemptively seized and the owners turned out. At the last minute the project was struck down but the damage was already done. They then turned the entire area into State and Federal Parks locking much of the actual land away from any meaningful access by People.

While I understand the fear of land people farmed being taken away because I will be a farmer as well, I believe the sad part is no one is remembering how most people got their land, by the government and corporations forcefully moving Native Americans off their ancestral land and then again when blacks got land, the deceitful practices to rob them of their land, all over the world, not just in the US, corporations and the government snatching away land or using deceitful practices to rob native citizens of their land. This isnt new, its just a repeat, the difference is it isnt by a gun. This is why true history is necessary. It boggles my mind the amount of solar farming (we are talking thousands of acres of fertile black land) that’s being taken up. It’s southeast of Waco. I’ve already had a disagreement with the contractors telling me I need to slow down and that’s a small part of control they want. It’s all in the big scheme of things. I didn’t go quietly that morning from saying to them what is the speed limit on this county road, no one could tell me. I said when you can tell them rock haulers to stop running us off the road I might slow down. They are wanting to land lock all of it and the gates we have access to might have to be relocated. We are talking growth, but I’m seeing a critical amount of actual farmland that’s used to feed a growing nation. It blows my mind how these contractors and land owners are acting. It’s all over money, greed and power, and I’m sitting in the feed truck wondering about the future generations of what once was a great nation. We haven’t even talked about the aftermath of what these solar panels are going to do to the land. Back in the day if you went down this county road when it was wet, it might be awhile before you got your truck out if you got stuck. It was going to take a 4 wheel drive tractor to get it out. We say it’s for growth, but things are a little slower here in the country, and it should make everyone think about how out of touch this is.
