She's not exaggerating! I tried this as an alternative Valentine's Day treat for my husband, who loves savory over sweet, and it is just as amazing as she described. And it really did make the whole house smell good!!

I love this recipe! I make my own seasoned salt mix and cajun seasoning mix so I can leave out the salt. I also use unsalted butter. It really helps since all the ingredients are already plenty salty. Additional fun add ins are potato strings, corn nuts and fritos.

We took your advice and used Bugles into our mix. Thank you for the added snack. In our house it is not a complete mix if you leave them out.

So if you freeze it for future use, do you just pull it out & eat it or must you reheat it? Can't wait to make this!
@Lisa-yg8lz Жыл бұрын
I had the same question.

You can would just let it come to room temp on the counter. Shouldn’t take long!

As you say, "You can't have Chex Mix without Chex Cereal ", and therein lies my problem. In canada, where I come from, only Rice Chex (?) is available. No Corn Chex, no Wheat Chex. I found that Shreddies are not a suitable for substitution for wheat Chex either so I'm stuck. Chex Mix snacks are not sold in canada either. Instead, some abomination called "Bits and Bites" by Christie; a total assault on the taste buds, is what passes off as a snack here. What I would give just to try a sample of your fabulous Chex Mix. All the best.

Will this be too salty with the seasoned salt and creole seasoning?
@TheAnthonyKitchen Жыл бұрын
Both of those ingredients have quite a bit of sodium, so I would add any extra with caution and in small increments as you are testing the recipe ;)
