What comes to mind when you think of California?
Is it low taxes, strong businesses, jobs, and the right to self-defense?
Not for these University of Texas students! Will Witt heads to the Southwest to find out what people think of Texas and California.

ƏĐÛÅŘĎØ Æ that would be the far left not just the plain left or center left but the far left is the type that leads to tyranny But the reality is it’s the other way around you say they say you feel you’re not free when you are free but it’s the other way around You may say they’re free but they’re not free they should feel Unfree because they’re not free But that would be because of the far left and far right Especially before hand and 1913 after passing the federal reserve act Then in 1919 President Woodrow Wilson would regret it with the following words "I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men." -Woodrow Wilson, after signing the Federal Reserve into existence

I'm South korean and I have traveled to California and Texas. Both are really nice places, but I liked the memory of Texas much better. One of the reasons I traveled to Texas was because one of my U.S army friends was an artillery officer who was from Texas and recommended me a trip to Texas. The natural scenery was nice and the food and beer were really delicious. And most of all, the people of Texas are kind. I think Texans' consciousness is more special. When I was young, I had seen a lot of movies in the U.S. and I had some stereotypes while watching the party culture in the U.S. But when I went to Texas, I broke that stereotype. I think the most gentle people in the world are Texans, not British. I'm worried about people suffering from the cold weather in Texas. I hope they have only good days. God bless Texas

T 25 well equality is the whole point of the ideology of liberalism dating back to when it was developed by English philosopher John Locke Liberalism is a political and moral philosophy based on liberty, consent of the governed and equality before the law. Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but they generally support limited government, individual rights (including civil rights and human rights), capitalism (free markets), democracy, secularism, gender equality, racial equality, internationalism, freedom of speech, freedom of the press and freedom of religion. Yellow is the political colour most commonly associated with liberalism. Liberalism became a distinct movement in the Age of Enlightenment, when it became popular among Western philosophers and economists. Liberalism sought to replace the norms of hereditary privilege, state religion, absolute monarchy, the divine right of kings and traditional conservatism with representative democracy and the rule of law. Liberals also ended mercantilist policies, royal monopolies and other barriers to trade, instead promoting free trade and free markets. Philosopher John Locke is often credited with founding liberalism as a distinct tradition, based on the social contract, arguing that each man has a natural right to life, liberty and property and governments must not violate these rights. While the British liberal tradition has emphasized expanding democracy, French liberalism has emphasized rejecting authoritarianism and is linked to nation-building. Leaders in the Glorious Revolution of 1688, the American Revolution of 1776 and the French Revolution of 1789 used liberal philosophy to justify the armed overthrow of royal tyranny. Liberalism started to spread rapidly especially after the French Revolution. The 19th century saw liberal governments established in nations across Europe and South America, whereas it was well-established alongside republicanism in the United States. In Victorian Britain, it was used to critique the political establishment, appealing to science and reason on behalf of the people. During 19th and early 20th century, liberalism in the Ottoman Empire and Middle East influenced periods of reform such as the Tanzimat and Al-Nahda as well as the rise of secularism, constitutionalism and nationalism. These changes, along with other factors, helped to create a sense of crisis within Islam, which continues to this day, leading to Islamic revivalism. Before 1920, the main ideological opponents of liberalism were communism and conservatism, but liberalism then faced major ideological challenges from a new opponent, fascism. During the 20th century, liberal ideas also spread even further, especially in Western Europe, as liberal democracies found themselves on the winning side in both world wars. In Europe and North America, the establishment of social liberalism (often called simply liberalism in the United States) became a key component in the expansion of the welfare state. Today, liberal parties continue to wield power and influence throughout the world. However, liberalism still has challenges to overcome in Africa and Asia. The fundamental elements of contemporary society have liberal roots. The early waves of liberalism popularised economic individualism while expanding constitutional government and parliamentary authority. Liberals sought and established a constitutional order that prized important individual freedoms, such as freedom of speech and freedom of association; an independent judiciary and public trial by jury; and the abolition of aristocratic privileges. Later waves of modern liberal thought and struggle were strongly influenced by the need to expand civil rights. Liberals have advocated gender and racial equality in their drive to promote civil rights and a global civil rights movement in the 20th century achieved several objectives towards both goals. Continental European liberalism is divided between moderates and progressives, with the moderates tending to elitism and the progressives supporting the universalisation of fundamental institutions, such as universal suffrage, universal education and the expansion of property rights. Over time, the moderates displaced the progressives as the main guardians of continental European liberalism.

I’m a Californian Republican, I love my state even though we have a lot of Democrats who disagree with us. We have beautiful beaches and perfect weather and good economy. I don’t think we should hate California because it’s a blue state. This is my voice for other Republicans: I think tolerance is a conservative value and we should respect liberal opinions no matter how much we disagree with them. “I disapprove of what you say, but I’ll defend to the death your right to say it”. I know a lot of liberals don’t respect conservative opinions, but this doesn’t justify us insulting all the liberals or disrespecting their opinions. Disrespecting liberals only makes our country more divided, not united. Hating the left doesn’t make you more successful. I think Will Witt is the best example of being a Republican: I disagree with Democrats, but I respect their opinions and be nice to them.

ska punk OI! alternative living By that same measure, California also has the highest population of conservatives of any state, more than Texas, and growing. There’s just more people, more everything. California definitely has a bigger homeless problem, but that also includes a huuuuge chunk of vets since CA has the most military of any state, and also that it’s weather makes it the most hospitable if you are homeless. Most places people die in the extremes of summer or winter, but not in California. I agree it’s a big problem that needs a lot of attention, but dumbing down and oversimplifying the issue isn’t helpful.

If you actually go to California and ask all the hobos where they’re from, almost all of them come from other states. It’s the same failed states that send their hobos to California that point out California’s homeless issue. Well duh, because they keep failing their own people which is why they end up in California.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and this video aims to capture the opinions of COLLEGE-aged students, an age where one’s opinions can dramatically change and adapt as we’re more exposed to the world and other people. Attacking someone for their personal opinions and feelings toward a certain state in a comment section isn’t doing anything except hurting the people in the video. Why is having a civil discussion about the opinions posed in this video so hard to accomplish?

Yah buddy ! San Antonian here ! When I was younger other states flashy image use to be the appeal to us back then now .. so glad I stayed we have the beautiful big homes here , it’s actually physically greener believe it or not than California . I’ve learned to not only love my beautiful city , but appreciate our southern manners and hospitality! I assumed everyone is courteous , but when I traveled to NYC and especially .. LA many times ..,wow ... people are simply not nice ! You see the difference between Texas and California is simply how we became states . California was more a frontier and was migrated with not that much resistance from Mexico , Texas on the other hand was Mexico’s major port to Europe and strategic land , our blood lost to become who were are never left our identity. We know what it is to be Texas and hard it took ( Alamo ) .., and we’re not afraid to defend ourselves and out state . California never worked that hard to be what it is it simply transitioned to a state from the gold rush .
