A mother, Linda Green, shares her story of the loss of her 27-year-old son to fentanyl poisoning.
Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

Texans who provide someone with a fatal dose of fentanyl could face a murder charge under a bill the Texas House and Senate have approved. As part of the Legislature’s war on opioids, House Bill 6 would classify overdoses from fentanyl as “poisonings.” The bill passed the Senate on a 30-1 vote Tuesday. Three days later, the House accepted an amendment that had been added by the Senate, sending HB 6 to the governor. Gov. Greg Abbott made combating opioid overdose deaths a key issue this session. HB 6 and its companion bill, Senate Bill 645, could effectively increase the penalties related to the sale and production of fentanyl.

Thank God the cops in her sons case listened and did something. The last 4-5 videos I’ve watched on this channel the cops did absolutely nothing! One story the investigator told the mother her son was “acting a fool and thats why he died.” The investigator wouldn’t do anything to help the family, he barely talked to the people her son was with when he passed. How different certain people get treated by police even when they’re going through the exact same situation as others.

This mother expresses a concern I’ve been talking about to anyone who will listen: if you have a lock on your phone, make sure someone close to you has the code and let your family know who has the code. If you change the code, tell your confidant. If something tragic happens to you it could very well be your phone that saves your life. Secondly, if someone you love is in recovery stay in touch with what is going on in their life. People in recovery can have a very difficult time dealing with adversity, conflict or life-changing events and no matter how long they’ve been sober, they can break their sobriety. This is where patients in recovery are let down: rehab centers do not often teach patients effective skills for dealing with life challenges, and those skills need to be tailored to the individual. What works for one patient might not work for another. Both of my brothers died because they broke their sobriety due to the inability to deal with a tragedy. I live with that every day of my life; I wasn’t paying attention and took their sobriety for granted.

@derek that is so well said! My friend was sober 2 years and 1 day from heroin when he was fired from his job. He didn’t know how to handle it so he reached out and got some heroin from his friend. He injected the amount he used to do before he went to jail to start his sobriety and they didn’t find him for 2 months abandoned in a trap house 2 states over where he was dumped after his OD. Facebook has an option to give someone you trust access to your account if something was to happen to you. On my IPhone in my medical part that comes up when you push the buttons on the side I have my phone code put in there so it looks like random numbers incase they need in. Also with iPhones if they are found on a person with no ID I know some ME’s have done the face recognition on the person deceased to be able to find out an ICE contact.

RIP Logan ❤ my heart goes out to Logan’s mother family and friends 😞❤️ I watch most of these stories but this one hits close to home ..I reside in San Antonio Texas ..I’m terrified myself being on opioids for pain ..I’ve been on there for a few years now I have so much pain and I don’t abuse them but at this point I know I can’t be a day without them ..I’m scared being I suffer from mental illness like ptsd/anxiety/depression which is the same for most of these tragic stories and just like Logan I too am transgender ..I don’t want to loose control of my life, I’m so scared 😞😞😞

Whenever you feel it’s getting so bad you don’t think you can handle it, reach out to those people who care about you. Don’t ever think that no one cares, or that you don’t matter, because you do. Don’t get so caught up in your pain and emotions that you don’t look up and see the sun, or a cat with attitude passing by (if you’re a cat person), or a flower by the roadside. There’s love and a listening ear out there for you. Shout to the sky if you have to, but don’t suffer in silence. Wishing you nothing but the best ❤

I was taking opioids for years, after I got addicted to them after multiple surgeries & chronic pain issues. By the grace of God I have been sober for over 5 years now, but only because I sought treatment with suboxone. I highly encourage you to talk to your doctor about suboxone. It is a miracle drug, imo. Not only does it take away cravings, it really helps with chronic pain. I am no longer in pain & I am no longer chasing pills & I am so very grateful for that. I would be scared to death if I was still taking pills in this day & age. Please take care of yourself & learn to love yourself like your life depends on, because it does. I am sending you lots of love & healing energy. 💕✨

Ive noticed with alot of these heartbreaking stories it seems like the police just don't care or what to do anything about these people mixing that poison in. Just said. No one deserves to die that way. My heart and prayers to you all.

My nephew od in march..if i wasn't here and heard how he was breathing he would have died. Something told me to check on him and me calling his name he didn't answer. He was cold to the touch and his eyes was fixed. Me and my mom put him on the floor and i started cpr. I called 911 and they was able to give norcan and revied him and took him to the hospital. I can't stress this enough please don't do drugs...it affects the entire family. RIP to all those that have lost their life to this disease 😔 😞 💔 😪 😢 🙏

thank you for sharing. Naloxone is the active ingredient in Narcan and is also available in many generics as a nasal spray. In fact, the brand name Kloxxado delivers a higher dose of naloxone than Narcan (Kloxxado-8mg per dose, Narcan-4mg per dose). Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available in the brand name Narcan or generic versions available for free. It is important to recognize that Naloxone is the drug, Narcan is just a brand name. Whenever someone uses the word "Narcan" in place of "naloxone", they're devaluing all the other equally effective brand options and promoting a specific pharmaceutical company.

Thank you so much for saying this, James. The emphasis in so many of these videos is the drugs themselves, the dealers, the poisoning. The original crime in all these situations is the drug use, requesting the drugs, the demand for drugs. If the demand was not there, videos like these would not be made. In my opinion, the emphasis is not where it should be.

I am so sorry for your loss, my deepest condoleces to you Lina. My friend Edward passed away due to fentanyl poisoning back in january of 2019 so it's been almost 5 years of his passing. I have a few people close to me that struggle with addiction daily and all we can do is pray for them. I've learned over the last few years that you can't force treatment on anyone that is going struggling all we can do is wait for them to be ready to accept the help. Sending lots of love to those that lost someone to drug abuse and still currently going throught it. Praying for you all 💙.

I’m TERRIFIED of my stepson encountering this. God please…. 😭😭😭😭. His Mother started smoking him out at the age of 13/14 and he’s now 17- living with us and caught 2 cases for grass vape. We are doing everything in our power to keep him in our household because he has the choice to live where he wants to at this point. His mom‘s house is the party house and our household is very straight laced. We have talked to him about this and I pray every day single day that it’s not too late to get through to him- it IS poisoning because it can be laced into ANYTHING. I have only been in his life for about two years, but I would give my life for him.

Sorry to hear of your loss I to have lost my only Son back in 2016 he was on heroin went to rehab said he was off it went to look after his grandma and when he returned to Miami relapsed and it was now mixed with fentanyl and it went to his heart and stopped it. My prayers are with you. It's been 7years and it doesn't seem that much time has passed but it has. Your video has been very informative and inspirational. Worst of all my son and I were estranged which is a song from guns and roses that now came full circle.

At least once a week I tell my daughter how much I love her and am so grateful that she hasn’t descended into opioid and fentanyl abuse. I was very strict with her, maybe too strict but she’s alive and kicking. I wish the parents here would acknowledge the family dysfunction that cause such trauma that kids feel they have no future happiness or goals. And on every video talk about how there’s an EPIDEMIC going on. But they invariably point to the shortcoming of the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT. If you haven’t learned from the recent past, the feds don’t give two Pennies about “your drug problem”.

The police were never prepared to go after and arrest people who sell drugs at least not small ones. Now they are prepared to go after anyone selling drugs if fentanyl is involved. They aren't perfect but it's the best we have. They have the hardest job and I wouldn't do it if I was paid millions. The media doesn't play stories about how some officers get shot for pulling someone over, or get spit on and bitten by people under the influence or people with mental illness. Some get killed for asking someone to walk outside to discuss complaints about their dog. They deal with mean and nasty people who are drunk on drugs or both and they have to stay professional. Drunk people are prob the worst. Search online for cops who do their job well and save people. There are a lot more of the good stories then bad. Our media wants socialism..they want everyone dependent on the government. That's why in bigger cities police can't arrest people for doing drugs in the open.
