Cops can give warnings, or tickets, usually at their discretion. In this situation, she was stopped in a turning lane. If I was the one he approached, I would have been like "Omg dude, sorry sir. Look, turning off my phone right now. I am wrong and won't do it again." But this Karen immediately got some kind of fugazi attitude with him and he was not having it.

This is the second video I have seen of this officer pulling over text and drivers. I have to say that I love how professional he is, and how well he ignores the "I'm better than you" attitudes he receives. Exactly the type of officer I like to see protecting the public!

I saw a video at this same intersection of a texting and driving ticket a few years back with the same type of lady but in an SUV. Probably the same guy... I'm guessing it's super easy to spend 5 minutes there and get a ticket with the amount of people in this city who won't get off their damn phone for 20 minutes to drive a 2 ton weapon from point a to point b.

I worked in County government for 15 years and if I had a nickel for every time I heard that one... The last time somebody pulled that one, it was a guy who came up to me while I was doing some outdoor maintenance work at a public site and just started rambling on about how much the County spends on this and that, why is this service so expensive, why do they charge so much for something else, why do they waste money on "stupid" things like wheelchair access for the historic sites, just every complaint in the book, and he concludes with that gem, "and anyhow, you as a worker should really be questioning your bosses about this stuff on behalf of us citizens, because don't forget, my taxes pay your salary" and I had been listening to this clown rant for over a half hour and I just shot back, "Yeah, buddy, MY taxes pay my salary, too". At first I thought he was gonna be pissed, but then he started cracking up and was like, "Y'know, I guess you're right. I didn't think of that." I got pulled over (the last time) about 15 years ago in South Carolina. I got a warning because I was polite but I was also funny without trying to be. He asked me did I know why I was pulled over, and I honestly said I pulled over because he was going after the guy in front of me! This made the officer choke on his own spit and he looked up my Dl and saw I hadn't had any offences and gave me a warning.
