Using Fusion 360 to add texture.
We first look at adding texture by using the Pattern on Path and Circular Pattern tools. Then we look at how we would approach creating texture around a more complex shape. This is a follow up to comments and questions posted to my previous video where I show the first method in more detail.

Thanks Spike. Yeah I realized that my original model didn't fully show how flexible this method could be since it could be recreated with the circular pattern tool so I decided to make a more complex model to demonstrate the difference.

Instead of making a triangular wedge, you could have made a long slender rectangle for your pattern that way the ‘knurled’ features would all be the same dimension independent of how far away they were from the axis of rotation

Big kudos for this video. I really like how your are maintaining your channel / videos. You're totally right, that the combination "pattern along a path" and "circular pattern" just works for round / revolved objects. Fusion has chosen the name wisely ;-) For irregular bodies as shown here at the end, I know no more elegant way. The only solution I have in mind is to create (like in your example 10) offset planes and use those as a split tool for the face (modify -> split face) Now a body could be patterned along each path on the face. Less elegant, less regular pattern, much more work.

Good Vladimir and intenst ... but the pattern on the organic surface is quite variating in size and shape according to how it is projected on the surface .. think if it was a perforation of fixed size of circles ... this methode wont work ? I Have no solution ... but good trial
