Same. Even if they didn't do full-on sequels with Arthur as the lead again, they could have done movies centered on the other knights, like I love the idea of having movies centered on Lancelot, Percival, Galahad and Gawain, with the recent The Green Knight proving how great it can work

I got to watch it during the pandemic for the first time, and personally, it was really better than what people gave it credit for. From the scenary and background of Camelot, of course the great and entertaining style of Guy Ritchie holding all together, and Charlie Hunnam being pretty damn awesome as Arthur, in which I found to be a really interesting iteration of the figure of King Arthur and how learning from low grounds of Camelot, turned him into the leader he was supposed to be along with his connection to Excalibur. My problem of course, as you said, the pacing and editing does drag down throughout the middle act and the climax not being a strong pay-off. And the fact that they cut all the other connections to the Arthurian legend, such as the role of Guinevere and how the connection of Merlin could have brought a different layer for the story. Its really unfortunate that they couldn't do the original plan for the movie's story, because they still could have branched off another movie in the same universe but with another knight of the roundtable, like Lancelot, Percival or Gawain (though The Green Knight beat them with that character already, hehe). Nevertheless, its a really fun movie and entertaining for what it was, but certainly not Guy Ritchie's best work And of course #ReleaseTheGuyRitchieCut

I’ve probably watched this movie about 20 times at this point, it’s one of my favourite movies of all time. I love the fight scenes, and the humour is brilliant. I love Guy Ritchie films, especially the two Sherlock Holmes films. His fight sequences and editing are always amazing and I love watching them. I watched this for the first time probably back in 2019 or 2020 and I loved it from the get go. I was really surprised to learn that it bombed at the box office, and really upset to learn that it was supposed to be a six movie franchise but because of the bad numbers, they had to cancel the plans. I’ll admit, the montages got a bit confusing at times, but it really doesn’t bother me at all. The score for this movie is phenomenal; genuinely one of the best I’ve ever heard. I love this movie so much, and I really hope it comes back for a sequel.

You know who would've been the best geralt if he were in his 40s? I present to you nikolaj coster-waldau. Jaime Lannister himself. He has the height, the muscular and fit but not too bulky build, he has the handsomeness, and he has the penetrating eyes. If not nikolaj, he is 52 now although still handsome, tall and fit, if not nikolaj, then charlie hunnam, OR hear me out.... Chris Hemsworth.

Saw the movie with my dad when I was small, still remember a lot about it and how dark it was, yes somehow I was allowed to see it back then, and the story writing was great, the villain was very sympathetic as he slowly loses everything he had in the search of power and therefore has nothing to lose in his final confrontation with the protagonist, the idea of the sword giving you superhero speed to the point of almost stopping time and amazing strength its a very original take on how the sword works and why the antagonist wants it so much Overall I definitely recommend this movie but my one problem is how they discover Arthur's identity... I mean its cool but like that sounds like the dumbest way to be found out after many years of hiding and he just gets tricked into pulling the sword out of the stone which just seems so annoyingly simple, but still a good movie

Bro this movie is one of the best. I don’t care about Ritchie’s humour or his edit style and etc. Imo this is the beautiful fairy tail about good and evil. It seems that we forgot that fairy tails are the basics of everything. This movie is almost a guide for people and men especially. They explain the nature of evil, where it gets its powers, and what it needs to sacrifice in order to keep the power and control over other people. It shows And Arthur is the good on the other hand, it’s very scary and hard to be on the right side of the story, that why he is trying to quit the whole movie by saying ODGAF let me go at the beginning and throwing the sword away at the ending. Damn, if you start think of the movie in this way, you can tell how much Ritchie wanted to put his philosophy, almost I would say Christian believes in this movie, and I am sure that that is the case cuz when he kills Jude in the end Arthur basically says “you are the incarnation of satan”. So, yeah, one of the best if not the best Guy Ritchie movies. Snatch and everything is cool, but this one is on another level in terms of philosophy and deepness imo

Honestly, when I thought this came out in September or October or even November of 2017, it came out in May 2017, and I scratching my head as to why this opened that mouth because GOTG Vol.2 which made 863.8 million USD, just released before King Arthur. The movie wasn't terrible to me it was just confusing and was divided into two or three different movies (how, well I can't explain it) I do like Guy Ritchie's films like Sherlock Homes theology, and I like his style of moving the camera to our main characters. The story I didn't like because it has characters that were underdeveloped, and it has some of like Dark Souls type was thrown in there, and I know the last battle was like Dragon Ball Z fight mix with like a video game, but I don't want to complain about this movie, it has amazing ideas, but the poor reason for this movie. 3/10 or 2/10 of the movie, but #ReleaeTheGuyRitchieCut

I gotta say the movie was incredibly entertaining with Ritchie’s take on it, the quirky, charming main characters, and an emotionally-intriguing antagonist (reminded me of macbeth). But the pacing was a little too fast, and the cgi could’ve been perfected if they were given more time and longer movie runtime. I hope they release the director’s cut. 👏👌💯

It will forever elude me why this movie failed at the box office let alone the critics. It’s a fantastic movie as it is, not mentioning a directors cut. Such a great and fresh take on the King Arthur Saga. I wish I could tell Guy Ritchie that, not that he’d need that. I love it, my family loves it, it’s amazing. And that’s coming from a German dude who had to read Middle High German Court Literature at school, such as Parzival or the Nibelungen. It’s a great movie.

King Arthur is my favourite Guy Ritchie movie, followed by The Gentlemen and Snatch, both tied for second place. KA is probably not the best objectively, but for me it is, and it's such a shame that the world did not recognize it, so we won't have another one. But maybe the next King Arthur movie wouldn't be as good; maybe it would be like Alien Covenant. It's hard to say. At least I am grateful that this movie exists, and I can enjoy it from time to time. It's a very original take on fantasy. I don't really care about the legend of Arthur, but I like the movie. It's amazing movie: the soundtrack, the actors, the story. It has a very distinct original taste and atmosphere. And Guy Ritchie style :)

I first saw this film at the movie theater when it was on its way out. I was bored and there was nothing "interesting" playing in theaters, so I figured I would at least give King Arthur a shot but wasn't expecting much. What I got was the surprise of a lifetime when I thoroughly enjoyed the film! I own it on DVD and have watched it at least 10 times. My family loves it too. I was also shocked that it didn't get much recognition, but realized it was understandable seeing as I wasn't that interested to see it back then. I'm very glad I decided to experience it in theaters!

compared to all the other arthurian legend movies? this one is the better product. people probably merely missing or not "catching" the nuances in the story that arthur KNEW who he is. raised in that brothelhouse. he knew who he is, remembers what happened to his family and why he end up in there. and he already "decided" to move on. guy ritchie missed making that apparent to the viewer. which making charlie hunnam seem like a clueless boy, while in the script he KNEW his history and is not surprised when people mentioning the sword and wanting him to take back the kingdom etc. thats why he behaved the way he is in the story. would you rather the same other arthurian movies where arthur is just the old man "cameo" in a lancelot movie? in d'arthurian real legend he fought to his throne. he became a king because he was a fearsome warrior with some scary "statistics". not because he pulled a magical sword out of the stone. thats a rumor that became the story local folks like to tale their kids in the past. to explain why he with his "voodoo" sword get to slain so many enemies. in the actual legend, the sword was HIS before he became a king. because he has some "relationships" with some "voodoo" people which historically known as "merlin". i think in the real lore, merlin knew arthur long before he was a king. and he was arthur "voodoo" priest/advisor or helper. i bet in reality he wasnt some white bearded mage. but more like some scary voodoo sorcerer. (engineer in modern world) the guinevere and lancelot tales are just the "rumormills" of local folks love to tell tales AFTER the kingdom was established. it has nothing to do with d'arthurian" legend itself. or why he became king. mind you, a king and his wife were like the "celebs" of those times. and you know how common people love to make up rumors about celebs. maybe there were some odd interaction between guinevere and one of the knght in the real lore that people noticed, and then they made up story about it. and the rumor lives on. because nobody was out to correct it maybe? also i believe uther pendragon did not exists in reality. i realy believe thats mythology folklore people like to entwined with the d'arthurian legend. and uther and arthur had no relations whatsoever. hint : (research suggest, arthur was a "giant" like guy. from the alleged grave and his remains the researchers found. the "fearsome warrior". and there is a female skeleton buried with him. no cheating wife would get that kind of treatment.)

Never count on what the critics say. They are at most wrong especially in current movies. And so many movies that dont make bank still become cult classics. Also just because budget exceeded box office doesnt also mean the movie sucks. Its just that there are a lot of severely high paid contracted actors, staff and equipment. There is also no control over what people are into until they see it. Look at so... so... so many of movies that get awards on the red carpet yet they dont make shit compared to budget. But to me those movies stink and that makes another point that budget and box office doesnt mean a movie is crap.

Repeating that the scenes were too short as a flaw, after acknowledging the studio cut 40% of the movie is beyond dumb. That 2 hour mandate and the release date, for which you said nothing about, are the only 2 reasons the movie flopped. The movies released from april 14th to july 28th were as follows - The Fate of the Furious, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2, Alien: Covenant, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Wonder Woman, The Mummy, Cars 3, Transformers: The Last Knight, Despicable Me 3, Baby Driver, Spider-Man: Homecoming, War for the Planet of the Apes, Dunkirk......and King Arthur was right in the middle of it all on may 12th. It was impossible to have a good opening weekend because it was dealing with the "legs" of F&F and Guardians subsequent weekends and it had no chance in hell to have legs of its own, because there was a new blockbuster opening every friday for the next 2 months. Most of those movies flopped or underperformed just like King Arthur because of those insane release dates. I remember going to the cinema 7 weekends in a row at that time, and King Arthur was by far the best of those movies, but it flopped the hardest, because of that absurd date right in the middle of a shitstorm. So your "analysis" video sucks. Have a dislike!

Guy Ritchie is cinema God! I still like King Arthur, but I get why people see it as chopped and meh. Anyone has some spicy news why his newest movie didn't come out yet? Operation Fortune.

I wish I knew. All I could find were articles just saying it's release was delayed.

I think maybe this should be a show or miniseroes rather than a movie.

Damn movie was great I’m sure they cut it down and destroyed the original concepts… I thought it was great casting and great idea from the Mange to Arthur and everything was just great… they didn’t promote it they could of done this a lot better but it’s still a film I recently watched again actually…. If you haven’t seen it you def need to go watch sucks that they diddnt release the full film..
