The level crossing beside Teynham station. There is a footpath level crossing the other side of the station platforms. This crossing once used to be a manually gated level crossing which was opened on request.

I remember that crossing when it was a pairt of wooden gates operated by a crossing keeper. They were kept closed to road traffic, and there was a button either side that a car driver had to press to alert the crossing keeper that they wanted to cross the track and the gates needed to be opened to allow them to do so.

Fantastic video (when are your videos ever not fantastic lol)! The alarms here sound like Bentley Heath Level Crossing as they're lower pitched due to colder conditions - something that affects quieter crossings more than the louder ones also!

I've never tried a Huawei phone but the flagship models, in my opinion anyway, seem to have decent cameras. I switched from Apple ages ago.

Can you access platform 2 (Ramsgate bound) from this level crossing or do you have to use the stepped footbridge? Just interested to know as I used to live in Conyer, many moons ago, and have just got an electric bike and would like to cycle down to Conyer to have a look at how much it has changed, if at all. But my e-bike weighs 20Kg and I may struggle to carry it over the footbridge.

I commute from Ramsgate to Sittingbourne during the week and Ramsgate station has very inconsistent lift services so lugging a heavy e-bike up and down stairways is a bit of an imposition. Sittingbourne's lifts seem to much more reliable thankfully because their footbridge is a beast steps wise!

Thanks 😎 There's three different types of warning lights; standard, narrow and vertical narrow. The standard is seen on the left (widely used). The narrow is seen on the right (where space is limited). Vertical narrow are very rare now but consist of a vertical red, yellow, red design, like a traffic light. Theres still a few in existence on the Isle of Man, Marshbrook LC and Kingsferry Lifting Bridge.

UK lights have three variants: standard lights (left side) which is the most common, 'narrow' lights (right side) which aren't so common and also 'vertical' lights in the form of a traffic light. These are very rare, with one still in existence at Marshbrook LC in Shropshire
