OK so for the timeline part, the Halloween events were probably *supposed* to take place in chronological order based on when they came out in the real world but there are far too many inconsistencies for that to work in the TF timeline. So I just tried to salvage it into something sorta kinda workable (though there are several problems with it). But realistically the intended timeline is most likely the order that they came out...if they put any thought into it. WHY DOESN’T MY GAME ABOUT MAGIC AUSTRALIAN METAL, ROBOTS, AND WIZARDS FOLLOW A STRICT LINEAR TIMELINE!?

The main problem with the TF2 timeline is that aside from a few things (Meet the Medic, Doomsday, SF5, Expiration Date), everything is in a kinda weird floating timeline based on release date. So SF6 takes place before Comic Issue 5 which takes place before Gun Mettle, all of which takes place after MvM. The events don't make sense in that order but that's how the references seem to work. Gun Mettle references Sniper being from New Zealand, Tough Break references events from TF Comics #2, Merasmus' pinky is injured in SF6 and stays that way afterwards.

During last Scream Fortress, I got to play on spook fort.... He did in fact show up 5 seconds after each death. He reached his max level 4 times before we could finish the match, which we were literally just lining up people in front of heavies to win the game to fucking end it. I had a 100 soul contract. Maybe some of the Halloween events just take place in October, but not actually on Halloween. A lot of people get started on celebrations early. Sometimes Halloween falls on a weekday so people host parties and carnivals the weekend before. Another possibility is that some events took place on Friday the 13th or some other day of significance that involves magic, superstition, or death. Another possibility is that some events, besides Helltower, just take place on a random day Merasmus was pissed at Soldier or in debt to one mob or another. Or it could also be that nothing that happens in the games is canon to the comics so there's no sense trying to figure out how the mercs could celebrate Halloween 8 times in 4 years or when and why they were ever in China or Japan, or had to collect beer for aliens.

The bombinomicon doesn't like Sniper because he's the least exciting of all the mercs. Heavy has a minigun, soldier and demo explode people, medic is a psychopath, pyro is pyro, scout runs fast and hits people with a bat, engineer has sentries that can fire rockets and shoot bullets, and all sniper does is sit in a tower somewhere and shoots people in the head from far away.

I wonder if the TF2 universe canonically has multiple Halloweens per year. It's a stretch to assume this but cosmetic items in the game that can be worn on Halloween can also be worn on full moons, so could it be said that every full moon night is also a Halloween night? Again, it is a stretch, but this is also a world where the poet Shakespearicles invented rocket launchers in order to reach second story floors instead of inventing stairs, so random stuff like every full moon being Halloween aren't the craziest thing to think about.
