This honestly changed my mind about the workshop creator situation. The video on Christmas cosmetics felt a little too much like uncomposed rambling, whereas in this he supplies reasons for his takes and doesn't get as rambly. When Zesty actually sits down and explains his reasoning, he's really good, he just resorts to getting mad too much for me.

I think the Kiln And Conquer gets bumped a notch with the additional layer you can see on the handle for weapons (or the top bar when you see the warpaint itself). You may not realize it, but your eyes relay the information to your brain either way that this additional color pallete combines good with the rest of the warpaint.

God the kiln and conquer has to be my favorite war paint ever. It take inspiration from the uranium and the electroshocker in its main textures without feeling like ripping either off(and I’d argue that it did the motif better than the electroshocker by being less saturated), and the tertiary design add a nice highlight to everything with the subtle oil chromatography motif; it just manages to take three separate and cool designs and makes them really cohesive Also for the one I got on my scattergun, the whole demon head is visible on the barrel when inspecting it, and the demon design just reminds me of the Motörhead logo.

As Much as I do enjoy hearing you rant about how bad these and most past warpaints are, It makes me so goddamn sad to see just how incredibly unwilling the TF team (all like 3 people) is when it comes to even TRY to just add good cosmetics to the game. Only about 2 or 3 warpaints out like the 10-15 in each case actually looks even remotely good and good lord the cosmetics for this years smissmiss were some of the most bland and generic i've ever seen, not to mention the fact we just don't get items that fit tf2's art style anymore for the most part since the only new cases we get are for halloween (Horror, Silly) Smissmiss (Festive, USally also really silly) and Summer (Sometimes Serious Like beards and Abs, but mostly just the same summer wear you expect, beach cosmetics and crap) and we just don't get good new looking items that actually work with TF2's original artstyle which sucks when you look at just how many stupid talented creators understand what makes a good war paint or cosmetic, and what makes good trade fodder.

There is no tf team that’s the thing. There’s like 3 people who are willing to do things for it and will open the project like 4 times a year when they have spare time. There’s probably a major update in the works for Tf2, but they’ve been working on it in spare time for 3 years so it might take another 3 years to finish. Higher ups at valve don’t see tf as profitable so they discourage employees from doing significant work on it. Employees don’t think it’s fun to work on tf so they don’t care either way. And I don’t blame them, it would be much more fun to work on an upcoming innovative console compared to a decade+ old spaghetti coded game.

When I got my first ever war paints (this year) I somehow didn’t know what stranges were so I put my strange kiln and conquer on my family business and my normal potent poison on my brass beast. It wasn’t the best decision but I think it looks cool so I don’t really care.

This case was kind of promising for me. While we definitely had some of the worst in terms of laziness, I'm so happy to see custom wears on the warpaints in here. I had gotten a strange battle scarred necromanced from the one crate I did open and while it's still not as good as it could be, it's one of the few paints in recent cases that actually looks good at lower wear. Seeing blood splatters next to the sticker eye on my weapon is super neat and it still looks good since the shitty weapon metal doesn't show and it stays consistent. Also I'm glad you defended misfortunate, while I wasn't jazzed about it at first I thought people were way too hard on it. Once I saw that it had custom wear texturing, though, I began to appreciate it a lot more. I have a loadout I'm making where I wanted to have weapons with a worn and blood splattered look, and I spent a good half hour just looking at basically every warpaint in the viewer and almost all of them look like shit on most weapons. It's so disappointing

As a fanatic of ice, the fact that we keep getting these somewhat decent ice war paints, but with no effort to make a RED team variant makes me sad. Just make it that nice, warm sunrise color reflecting off the ice! I’ve personally been tempted to make a war paint based on the Alitalia liveries from the Lancia Stratos and Fiat 131 Abarth, but with a team variation with warm and cool whites, a tire texture, a golden brushed metal and all that, but I don’t even know where to start. But I’m pretty sure using a real-life inspiration is better than half the fuckin sticker war paints we’ve been getting these past few years. Hell, if you’re going to be lazy, just steal skins from a different game! Pretty sure no one would notice a Payday 2 skin being used.

Honestly yeah I agree with Neon-Ween but god damn does it look fantastic if you slap a hot rod or violet kill streak sheen on it then it does make it look way better than default. Hell it’s one of the rare “neon” war-paints where that actually does make it look way more better Especially if it’s on the rocket launcher, Black box, Grenade launcher, and even Scatter gun.
