the pivot will matter when you deepstrike something like a lord of skulls or monolith. drop in sideways, make your charge roll, loss 2" on the pivot but gain like 3 or 4 closer to the charge target

So free movement off pivots is no big deal? Base shape is an incredibly stupid & arbitrary way to do this mechanic.
