2013 Honda Crosstour vs Fiat 500 Turbo 0-60 MPH Mashup Review

( www.TFLcar.com ) The new 2013 Honda Crosstour with the V6 is a AWD crossover that directly competes with cars like the Toyota Venza. The 2013 Fiat 500 Turbo is a tiny front-wheel-drive Italian hatchback that slots right in between the Fiat 500 and the very sporty Fiat 500 Abarth. It potentially competes with other tiny cars like the Mazda2 and the Ford Fiesta. In no way, shape, or form does the Fiat 500 Turbo compete with the Honda Crosstour....so that's why we decided to Mashup these two very different cars in another fun and exclusive TFLcar Mile High 0-60 MPH Mashup review. Crosstour all day, you have to own one to understand ride , interior and all weather. what not to love.

Owned a 500T for years, cut out the huge heavy muffler and replaced with straight pipe with stock tip (sounds just like the Abarth), put in K&N air filter, fresh plugs, 4C coils, and an OBD2 tune to boost it from its artificially restricted (its the same powertrain as the Abarth identical in every way) 14PSI to 22PSI (Abarth is 18PSI), and put on some summer max performance tires, along with pulling the very heavy rear seats and installing a lightweight flat carpeted floor (big trunk now), and dyno says I'm putting down 172hp. Stock is already 60lbs lighter than an Abarth, rear seat delete with belts but adding floor back in saved about 35lbs and 15lbs for the muffler, and it runs like a bat out of hell. The biggest difference is not only is it now way way way faster than the Crosstour, it can fit a Costco chest freezer in the back (guy was like holy crap it does fit) so still has some practicality, the fuel economy is even better with the weight reduction and chip (I think stock tune isn't optimized for ultimate efficiency to keep NOx emissions down), but in the twisties especially on the max performance summer tires (Indy 500s), you can flick it around like mad and it'll outrun a Fiesta ST any day of the week... the Crosstour is extremely pedestrian when it comes to spirited driving.

We live in Texas and have been to Colorado several times in our Accord Crosstour. It doesn't perform in mountains like near sea level in Texas. But since 2010 we have had more room, great gas mileage, superior dependability since 2010. With only one unexpected repair being a relay switch on A/C. Interior is still like new.

Crosstour is a great car. I just bought it last month, the 2013 CT V6 AWD in black. I love it. Good-looking, powerful engine and feels really sporty. And it has quite large room, really feels comfortable. The fuel economy is bad for the V6, however I got the 278hp as i wanted, fine by me~~~ Although people saying CT is always being compared with Venza, I think it is a large size sports hatchback more than a CUV... lol cause it drives more like a Accord Coupe!

This car is the Fiat 500 Turbo, not the 500 Abarth. The Abarth has a 0-60 time of between 6.8 and 7.2 seconds, depending on a multitude of variables including, but not limited to: tires, weight, air/road temperature, and most importantly of all, driver skill. A 0-60 time of 8.2 seconds for the 500 Turbo, which has 25 less horsepower and 20 less ft-lbs of torque than the Abarth seems perfectly reasonable.

Azera and Subaru Outback 3.6r are Crosstour's direct competitor. MINI Cooper Turbo and VW Beetle Turbowould be that Fiat's direct competitor. Remember, this is TFLCar's mash-up.

Billy Sou I just garaged my 2005 Subaru Outback sedan 3.0r (227k + miles and still running!) and bought a 2014 Honda Crosstour. The Honda is better in many ways, (I haven’t driven in snow yet), but the Subaru definitely has more balls! It’s also lighter and smaller, though, but felt like a race car compared to the Honda :) I love them both, and really wish Subaru would bring back the Outback sedan.

I just sold my 2009 Pilot for a 2013 CX9, and my friend, they're absolutely incomparable... The CX9 is actually built and fully assembled in Japan, versus the Pilot in Lincoln, Alabama. CX9 handles way better than the Honda, and it makes more use of its power, it actually has one more gear in its transmission. And yes it won Edmund's SUV of the year.. It just drives and feels awesome! Nice day.

I really like the 2013 crosstour! i also like how all of hondas big V6 family vehicles usually time between 7.0 and 7.8 seconds at sea level. impressive for the MPG weight and size. im suprized the abarth was over 8 seconds actually because normally the turbo really helps it above sea level.

A tuner chip in the Fiat would make it a great sleeper. Fiat just announced the esseesse kit for ~160HP. So, think you can get some Russian mechanic to tweak a 500T?

What you see is one of several runs. I did get a faster time, but usually the time around 8.2 seconds was my best. A lighter person on summer tires would do much better. Thanks for watching!

its not 220 horsepower... ive had 2 honda J35 V6 engines. my pilot puts 250 and my odyssey had 248. go to edmunds.. the 2013 accord crosstour V6 puts out 278 @ 6200 RPM.

I just Dynoed mine, and I've been doing some real world tests before I get some performance upgrades... And I'm getting about 7.6-8.2 with traction ON and Fully automatic Drive... It's a 4,100 Lb boat, and every owner knows it... It's a spectacular long distance car, and on stock wheels / tires, that thing is so steady and comfortable at very very high speeds.

The awd crosstour is a lot slower than the two wheel drive because it acts like a two wheel drive with a lot of extra weight!!! It doesn't launch with it and only comes on automatically when it senses bad weather or wheel slippage also he didn't turn off the traction control which severely cuts it down

8.2, that is VERY slow for 3.5 V6 220 hp and 255 lbs ft of torque. The crossover isn't very heavy either, but i can't say it's made for racing

What a shame... :) Use the clutch and gear stick properly. Fortunately the USA model has the garrett turbo which is capable to increase the power to about 200hp At least here in europe a lot of them with that turbo output around 210hp

It does... but this is 2 times the power. A X6 with 40 hp less makes a better 0-60 time. Plus it has 4 wheel drive. Which should make it faster.

Only 3900lb vehicle I would buy would have over 500hp and even then i might reconsider. I drive a fiat 500 turbo and a 2006 mustang gt and the 1300ish lb difference is quite noticeable. I just wish Ford would make a 2300lb mustang or fiat make a 300rwhp 500.

It's not a V6 accord. It's a V6 Crosstour which weighs 4100 pounds, or 600 pounds more than a V6 accord. It's obviously quite a bit slower off the line with that extra heft and you can feel it without needing any instrumented test. Honda needs to introduce the directed injection head of the engine and retune it to produce more low end power to help compensate for the increased mass. Else, this vehicle's power to weight is closer to a Odyssey mini van than it is to the Accord.

Ok but Crosstour is AWD and AWD puts the power down better than fwd, that is why a Mitsu EVO can do 0-60 in under 5 seconds with less than 300 hp and still weigh 3600 lbs. This Crosstour has no excuse.
