I had a 2013 500e and I think it was a very practical commuter car. It fits in small parking spaces that other people can’t fit in. The one I had was a lot narrower than most US cars so it could get into spots where people parked on the divider line and still open the doors. Mine had a range of 86 miles and the furthest I drove it was 57 miles to the airport (where they had 50 electric outlets (level 1)). I could charge it at home and saved thousands in gas money. Then I bought two more EV’s that cost a lot more, but included fast charging

I would have considered the 500e but that range just doesn’t make sense where I live in Atlanta. There are days when just running errands and taking the kids to stuff can eat through 150 miles of range so I have a Bolt EUV which I also love.

In Oregon, it's $3k down and $190/mo, 5k miles/yr. The only way you'd get that kind of price, is, they made a deal with you for advertising. It's impossible for a dealer to lease at that rate, and make ANY money. It's simply a loser for the dealer.

There is something to be said for having a "normie" daily driver, particularly if it's electric. I have had my Audi Q4 e-tron for 15 months and when the lease ends, I'm very much considering one of these. Partly because I don't need anything bigger or more, but partly because it's insanely cheap and also quite stylish! I'm mainly concerned with the ride quality and the performance/dynamics. BTW for reference, I was quoted $71/mo with first payment only down at Perkins in Colorado Springs for 24mos and 7,500mi/yr. The CO state credit decreases from $5,350 to I think $3,500 at the beginning of the year, though. So it might be like $100, lol

I just looked at the LHM Fiat website, the have a deal for a FIAT 500e lease deal for $0 down and $19/mo. But when you look at the deal there is this line " Lessee may be responsible for additional charges at end of lease term based upon the difference between the residual value and its realized value. " So if the value of the car drops like a rock over 27 months it will be like being upside down if you baught the car?
@2chuckАй бұрын
Now it's making sense as to why the monthly cost is so low if it's on the buyer to make up the difference between the Residual Value and Actual Value at lease end. The way that it's selling it may only be worth pocket change after 2yrs if Fiat or Stellantis is even still around. I doubt that the lease is sponsored by the Factory so even if Fiat or Stellantis is gone you are actually dealing directly with the Leasing Company. Too Risky.

its practical for your situation. it seems like a great car. but expensive if you had to buy it. my broadband internet costs more than your lease. lol
@waikelehawaii440926 күн бұрын
Be very careful! Not all leases are created equal. Not having read the terms of this deal, I'd be curious about the back-end expenses when the lease is over due to the clause that makes the leasee responsible for the difference in value between the residual value (agreed upon at the time of the lease) and the market value (determined when the car is returned). I don’t know if this typical boilerplate leagalese or if they have entered into a capital lease, and not a closed-end (operating) lease. A lessee responsible for the difference between the residual value and actual cash value has entered into a capital lease. In a capital lease, the lessee essentially assumes ownership risk of the asset. This is different from an operating lease where such responsibilities lie with the lessor. I hope they clarify this at some point.

Love the look- interior and exterior, also looks very comfortable. No more diesel fuel turning to gel or belts cracking in the cold. The low HP may not give you the the fun driving dynamics of an EV but for this kind of money- you're looking for practical and this definitely fits the bill.

Looks like a good deal, I hope you read the terms and it differed from what I see. I looked at one and in the details its an open ended lease and states "Lessee may be responsible for additional charges at end of lease term based upon the difference between the residual value and its realized value." With the way EV values have dropped you may be in for a bad surprise at the end of the lease owing money because the value dropped. I hope yours is not like this. I hope others are reading before jumping into a seeming too good to be true deal.

The only ones that benefitted from it was wealthier Republicans! I am not a Democrat either for the record. I think for now EV incentives are a good idea to build an American system for components used in them and to lead towards the eventual mass production of them. The more of them produced the more the cost of them should go down! Also the more EV's the less demand for Gasoline and the more the price of gasoline should go down. At that point EV drivers will be helping subsidize fuel prices for those driving Ice vehicles.

Everything I've read about them or reviews I've watched about them say they are a great little EV. Can't wait to see if Stellantis holds to bringing a 25,000 or less EV to the United States as they said they were going to. I still see a bright future for EV's in the younger generations! Back in 1999 I did the same thing as my F350 PowerStroke Dooley was not a good daily driver thus: I purchased a new 1999 Dodge Neon R/T red 2 door which had white racing stripes for my daily commuter. I drove it to 227,000 miles when in the Fall of 2012 the 3rd gear in the transmission broke sending metal parts right through the transmission housing draining all of his fluid on my hot exhaust, quite a smoky show. I had it towed to the dealer where I purchased it from and always had it serviced at. The owners manual said the transmission oil would “last the life of the vehicle” and thus it “did not need changing”. However, dealer said I should’ve changed the manual transmission oil at 100,000 miles and I told the same service advisor I used since the day I purchased the car there “you should’ve told me that.” Management agreed and gave me $1000 towards a trade in and great deal on another vehicle, a used Mazda Tribute 4x4.
