Been hunting on a lease for a few years with a guy that’s been using an electric sxs. When you need to get out quickly and quietly this is absolutely the best. I’ve had one on my list for years but they are expensive compared to the gas’s counterparts. However less maintenance is a big selling point. I’m excited for the future of these.

While I'm impressed with the capabilities of an EV side by side, I think I'll let the early adopters pay the exorbitant $37k. I'm happy to wait for them to come down to a more reasonable price. As it stands now, you're not getting double the capabilities but you're paying about twice the cost of an equivalent gas model. Those economics just don't make any sense.

Nice EVs. One suggestion on your load-out. What you do works but better to run the SxS tie-down straps straight forward and straight back, not crisscrossed. Also, connect as close to the center of the wheels as possible. That way the machine can bounce on the suspension without stressing/loosening the straps.

The price is insane. We paid that for a new model three just last year. I've had several SxSs and currently have a 24 KRX 1000. Sport machine with 22" of wheel travel and it was almost half the price of this Ev Ranger. I just don't get the market for these other than avid hunters with DEEP pockets. Most hunters don't need much more than a golf cart with 4wd and some decent suspension. Even the base model of this is really expensive compared to ICE models.

As someone who off roads in the Colorado mountains and grew up riding dirt bikes. I can’t fathom the side by side market for off roading (EV or not) To “ride” a SXS you need a truck, a trailer, and then oh yeah 20-30-40k for the actual SXS. Okay so maybe you live on a farm or buy/sell cars for fun so you can justify and use the truck and trailer for yourself. Sweet. You own those to. Now do you buy a Jeep? An LR3? A Taco? 4Runner? Samurai? Rocky? 4 dirt bikes? Heck a used JL fits in the upper end of the budget there. And you decide “you know what I need? Something that isn’t road legal and must be trailered to my fun site”? Just doesn’t add up. SXS’s are for rich folks

I guess with the side by side, 80 miles is enough? I don't do that yet, but it's a hobby I'd like to get into. The one thing I'd say gas has an advantage with is... when you're out of gas, you can easily bring another can or two with you. With a battery you gotta go back home or find a charging station out in the mountains. How often is that a problem?

@@danharold3087 Farmers and ranchers need choices not govt mandates. I got no problem with folks having choices and it will take probably 20 years for the technology to be viable on a 100,000 acre sheep ranch. And the farmer or rancher will always need ICE vehicles as back up. Dont forget more EVs means more power plants which means higher costs for electricty. Nothing is free. EVs also need to pay thier fair share of road use taxes etc since they are heavier and cause more wear. There are no free rides. Got to pay the man. THe man always wins.

@@fredmertz3837if we charge EV’s more for road use, then we charge pickups more for road use as well since they are also heavier. Be careful what you wish for.

It has its purpose. In my previous job we had a few on a site we managed. The site has quite a big protected forest that needs to be inspected. The vehicles on site were lifted Toyota Hilux pick-ups and UTV’s. The UTV’s are better offroad, smaller and damage the ground less. After getting a hilux stuck a few times and needing an unimog to get it out the patrols were usually performed by a utv.

@@zeedustrakok an atv can go more places. 2 atvs is less than one sxs. Just don't see the point.

Boy a lot of hate in the comments for EV My assumption is you have never driven one, two your a hypocrite as you have spent $1000 or more on red or yellow Battery pack tools. Price and range are the only real "issues" When battery capacity doubles and charging time is cut in half most IC vehicles will no longer be competitive

In 10 years all combustion car will look underpowered and expensive compared to ev. Twice the battery capacity and half the actual battery cost is enough to set new standart.

Its not going to happen. If you cut charging time in half you have to more than double the current supplied. No one can fast charge at home because level 2 charger is the best a house can supply. We dont have the infrasteucture and won't in our lifetimes. Rapid battery charging is just the tip of the iceberg. Also, if i could run my tools off gasoline, i would!

Good luck selling to the ever-increasing population of renters without home charging as big companies are buying out many homes.
