In the 2015 RiD toyline there was a sub category of toys called "Crash Combiners" with simplistic figures that were spring loaded and transformed when their alt modes were connected to each other. Both Optimus and Bumblebee were made in this line, but both were torsos so a proper combination "couldn't" be made. But... since the connectors on the toys were universal and symmetrical it is a possibility to connect them together anyways.

Well the reason they call Megatron "D-16" is because 1- that's his name in the IDW comics before Megatron and 2- it's his G1 toy's product number.

Why would a species of transforming robots that change their bodies to whatever they want risk loosing guns in battle for any number of reasons when they can literally turn their arms into guns and never have to worry about dropping or losing their guns?

@@PerspectiveEnd i mean we both say “whatever we want” but really Cybertronians have limitations to what we can do. Unless they’re special cases, mass shifting is an obvious no go. And even when they can do it, cybertronians are only shown being able to turn their arms into only one or two things like guns, swords, axes, etc. We can head canon to say only transformers with true mastery over their t-cogs can turn their arms/hands into guns, while everyone else is stuck needing to carry their weapons around, but it still makes sense to me that a species that can morph their bodies into something drastically different can do the same on a smaller scale

You know, the focal iris could work fine if they did it more like draenei in WoW with brighter but not as bright sclera. Could even save the darker sclera to represent them being in an energon starved state. I really feel they missed some opportunities with the movies, the starvation/survival angle could have made for a gritty character driven vehicle. Could also have helped them differentiate and define strong differences between the Autobots and Maximals in RotB. Where few things would show they are from a distant time or more advanced than their higher energy efficiency from smaller scale and ability to convert matter into energon ala "eating".

I'd say that the starvation angle may make more sense in a Beast Wars movie, since the Beast Wars Plot is about being stranded on a hostile planet with limited resources. Sadly it seems that won't be happening.

i don’t think the arms guns are that bad, some times there are explanations, like the transformers siege impactor toy, the hand swivels back revealing a barrel and a inbuilt magazine, and that stores somewhere under or in the back side when a bot decides to convert, maybe that’s the case. this looks cool, but then again i need to see the ss in person or in a review.

The reason that thing rolls so nice is due to those delicious pinned wheels. Which both this guy and the Studio series (both One and 86) have/going to have. In my series only some characters have gun hands, and they had to train themselves and there t cog to get it to work, and it would take more training to get other parts to become guns so that’s why only there hands become guns

I assume "Starscream" is capable of keeping his name on Cybertron because they would know about stars and screaming. That being said in the Skybound comics he has been given a pre war name in reference to a rejected name from when the characters were first being penned up. Ulcar or Ulcer or something. The REAL question is how Optimus Prime keeps his name. Because sure, you can say that every word and number and letter is translated to English for our convenience, but Optimus' name is Latin in origin and it itself be something different. Optimal One. However what I feel is the biggest blunder in using B-127 in this movie is that he's the ONLY character named like that apart from D-16. Like the character having number names would fit in how they're bottom class citizens, barely considered people, but then we have Orion Pax and Elita-1 and the plot gets lost. Like hey actually their names both reference numbers so something could be done with that, but no. And I get not wanting to name a character after an animal if they're on a planet millions of lightyears away from Earth millions of years before a bunch of upright hairless apes started assigning a bunch of noises to them but it's immediately contradicted by presenting Cybertronian wildlife. There's deers on Cybertron in TF:One, so why can't there be bees? In G1 cybetronian animals didn't exist, when you first see Laserbeak he's just a drone and he gets redesigned on Earth after a bird to likely better fly in the atmosphere, so in that continuity it would make sense for characters named after animals to have had different names because they wouldn't have had a concept of what those are. But in the Bumblebee movie we see Ravage who looks fully feline so it once again makes little sense why robot bees can't exist there either.

I’m trying my best to avoid buying any toys before I see the movie, but I do like how a lot of these look. If their D-16 is more in line with this figure, I’ll probably pick it up since there aren’t many young Megatron figures. Edit: OH MY GOD THE BALLJOINTS ON TRANSFORMERS SOMETIMES. I don’t know if your planning on reviewing them, but the Earthspark Twitch Deluxe has ball joint hips that constantly want to pop off, which can be annoying since her transformation relies on her legs folding around her torso. I’ve also had the arm of my Earthspark Thrash come off a few times,but that might just be from me being too rough when transforming him.

In order to make gun hands better they should still need to load their weapons with like a vial of energon. I love the concept but would like to see it done better

The B-127 argument is falling apart at the seams. I watched TF1 on the 14th, and Jazz was mentioned by name in the film. Jazz! As in, the guy named after Earth music! And apparently, Bumblebee is different somehow. I'm sorry, but if Jazz is still Jazz on Cybertron, then Bumblebee is still Bumblebee.
