Moral of the video: financing a car is a relatively new way to buy cars and make them more affordable, BUT you still have to put down hefty deposits (pure cash btw), keep up with hefty monthly's and be stable enough to be seen as a sensible person to lend to. Financing a car does not mean you're poor. It means you're using leverage to get into cars you simply don't have the cash for or you use your brain and don't want to lose £10K+, of your hard earned money, on the depreciation of a brand new car. CHAOS. Congrats, Tom on all the cars mate, thoroughly deserve it. Keep churning!
@Drzee19685 жыл бұрын
I think you will always lose the money on depreciation, otherwise who pays the depreciation? Financing a car is a way to drive a nice car that you might not be able to afford otherwise. It would be useful if TGE explained the losses as well.

Always look at what you will get back when you sell the car. Never buy a new car always 3 years old, or more. That way you will not be losing more than 2k a year on the more mundane stuff as listed below. With PCP and balloons all you are doing is renting a car and having to put down a large lump to start with. 48 month deals are favoured by people in business because in business you don't want to tie up too much capital in what is basically a toy. Always try and buy the car out right. You might not get the super car of your dreams but you can still get a fantastic car. Serious fast cars can be bought from 15k up. Which you will own and have an asset you can sell if needed. Here are but some of the cars I have done exactly that with over the years. Starting with a 928gt, viper GTs, M5 , Bentley GT, 1969 428scj, Bentley supersports SL 63, V8 Sierra cosworth ( don't ask) M6 gran comp, RS6 740 bhp, SL55, plus loads of every day stuff, Porsche Cayenne turbo s, Range rovers etc. Never have I paid more than 1k a month to own a car outright at the end. I bet I have had as much fun in my cars as you will get in any 3k a month super car. Not knocking what this video is about. But save as much money as you can because you don't know what's round the corner. Time goes very, very quickly. You need to have a rainy day fund. Trust me it will rain at some point in your life. That 15k a month could mean the difference between having somewhere to live, or not.
@craigrobertson79385 жыл бұрын
Sobering to think that the total cost is c£180k a year and you could buy a 488 for that (nearly). Every year. You wouldn’t get the content etc which would harm the income. Key item perhaps is the balance between depreciating cars and appreciating cars like the pista. Would be interesting to know the net cost of running the SV as the purchase price and the sales price may not be too different.
@Carls_World5 жыл бұрын
So basically, for the really nosey people. You're probably making roughly $100k to $120k per month to afford cars, house, garage etc. The great thing is you're a business owner and if your tax laws are like ours, you could run the cars through the business and write them off as a depreciation asset. Loved this video man!

Interesting video and information. My approach to cars that works for my personal situation is too try and save up 60% of a car and then finance the remaining 40% over 3 years. Let the dealers, banks and the finance companies compete for the best deal for me for that 40%. I owned my first car outright by saving from 16. I then saved and sold my first car to put down 60% of the value of a MK7 Fiesta ST at 18 and then sold that and saved again when I was 21 so that I could put down £16k deposit on my £23k scirocco R👍🏻 this method works well for me

DJRICKYDEEUK the apr varies wildly, depending most on ur credit score. Ur score is determined by how much credit you, how much of it ur using, do you make all ur payments on time. Then there’s brand loyalty and dealer loyalty that might change it as well. On average if there is such a thing one could expect between 6 and 9% for “good” credit, exceptional credit might get you 3% and poor credit if it doesn’t disqualify you, you might be looking at 12% or more. Dealers run deals that might range from 0 to 1.9%, but that’s for “well qualified” customers. There are also subprime dealerships, mainly for people with terrible credit but need a car, they might pay between 20 or 30%. I know it sounds ridiculous, but not every state has great mas transit systems nothing like trains in Europe or Asia, so we all pretty much can’t exist without a personal vehicle.

But i said no infact i screamed it whilst very drunk while standing waist deep in a pond . The next evening i decided to set up a adult buisness and you guys will now know it as brazzers . I started it and sold it for 42.8 mil after taxes ect . I paid some debts and associate's and ended up with 34 mil which i invested in bit coins . I sold at the right time . Not perfect time but right time . Took 122 mill and bought into tesla and the rest is history . I cant say to much but i made over 600 mil in hard assets which means i actualy have that not just on paper . This young guy has potential because it takes balls to keep going and pushing it beyond the markers others set . And this applies to everyone . So you have one job well go do something on the weekends guys but with a goal in mind watch porn and buy a tesla lol ya ya i know many of you will think oh if hes got that whys he on you tube. Cars depreciate faster than anything, would be much more sensible to invest all the deposits into properties. I wonder how much money is lost through buying super cars etc Always think owning a vehicle outright is the best and makes it feel yours, many people who finance don’t treat their cars well as they know they just hand them back at the end and don’t have a real value on the total worth of the vehicle through ownership. Pcp is the worst deals where your basically just paying interest and owe more than the cars value throughout the period, HP is best as youll quicker reach that point where the value outweighs the settlement @00:24:41 don’t agree with saying the lenders won’t let you finance is not appropriate etc ... the lenders will do everything they can to lend, that’s how they make money through deposits and interest and if you fail to make payments etc they make even more money so there not all bothered about circumstances for the average person

what kind of investment pool offers 10-12 percent return though? I thought such percentages are way above the normal
@mrtriple24145 жыл бұрын
Returns or yields on an investment can be low to high, depending on level of risk. 10-12% implies capital is at risk. The ‘risk-free rate’ will be around the rate of inflation, such by lending to a sovereign. At the other end of the scale is my former field of endeavour - private equity. When lent to start-up businesses, they usually lose all their money! One in ten times, the business succeeds hugely and, in a short period (less than 5 years & some times just months) they can get 10 times their money back. Expressed as an interest rate, it’d be in the hundreds. So 10-12% is lower end of risk as the main risk of capital loss is default followed by seizure of cars which upon liquidation are worth less than the loan outstanding. If the borrower only acquires rare & desirable cars which have prospects of going up in price, then that is pretty much self financing.
