Those extra races were in Unearthed Arcana, as were the barbarian and the acrobat, and cavalier, re-skinned here as the knight.

Agreed, it's just the becmi rules cyclopedia revamped. Which in itself was just a revamp of the becmi box sets 😒 All any of this is, is people wanting more of your money

Great review, kinda wish Necrotic Gnome actually made a single advanced players+referee tome, it would be thick yes but not that much and I would love to have everything I need in a single, digest size book.

Totally with you on that. But instead Gavin has chosen to reprint all the little books and do like the 6th different version of the boxed set. I would love a complete single volume digest-sized RPG. I do have the OSE classic rules tome, but I like having the AD&D options too and the expanded race classes.

@@sunsin1592 I dig the boxed set too but since I'm usually running games at other peoples houses (my appartment doesn't actually have space for a table big enough, believe it or not) the compact size of the rules tome is great, besides the box will definitely get scuffed by carrying it in a backpack and for what it costs, I would prefer to avoid that.

i'm torn on which I like better OSE or DCC.. My biggest gripe with OSE is that the thief's abelites at first level are pretty useless, the percentage is so low, I'll never play a thief in BX again.

If there were a mash up of a magic system similar to DCC for OSE, I think that would make an excellent combo! ~ Jeff
