Eggman was always called Eggman in Japan, but was renamed in the US and Europe to Robotnik until he got his "nickname" Eggman in Sonic Adventure 1. (This comment was presented to you by my poor memory; so maybe I got it wrong.)

Tails actually has a similar story, but this time America won the argument (though this time the two branches agreed early on). Sega JP planed to name Sonic's sidekick Miles Prower. While a fun pun, Sega US wanted to call him Tails. Yasushi Yamaguchi (Tails' artist) agreed to have Miles Prower be his real name, but Tails be a nick name.

You're pretty much correct on that! Essentially around the time Sonic Adventure 1 came out Sega decided to merge bits of the Japanese canon and US canon together so the main games timeline would be consistent across all regions going forward. I believe the majority of the canon now is from the Japanese version, with a few details from the US like Sonic's chili dog addiction and Eggman's government name being Ivo Robotnik. Additionally: Starting with Sonic Colours, theres usually a localisation team for each game that handles the script for western releases. Usually Japan's script is written first, with some exceptions, notably Sonic Frontiers. The two scripts pretty much keep all the same plot events, just with minor differences in dialogue/references.

Somewhat. I don't know if this was the original intend or something they changed later, but one of the creators of the Sonic Games, I forgot his name, has stated that Ivo Robotnik is his real name, and Eggman is just a nickname that Sonic and his friends calls him due to his shape.

Agent Stone is basically Robotnik's assistant (and technically his only friend, but he isn't willing to admit it). Jim Carrey actually wanted him in the movie so he'd have someone to talk to ^^ I love the little dynamic they have going on. The nice thing about them is that Stone genuinely enjoys working for Robotnik, he's not simply some henchman to be picked on or downplayed. He's loyal and hard working and devoted to his "Doctor" 💙

What I find interesting about Stone is that almost all of Robotnik's sidekicks in the game hate him LOL. Stone is actually pretty refreshing as a sidekick that takes the abuse in stride.

I was so hyped and afraid when they announced this since Sonic was the first video game I ever played and I hold it near and dear to my heart. It is a bit generic in places but they still did an awesome job with it.

Honestly Sonic Adventure 2 is still my top favorite Sonic game but Heroes is right below it. Literally the 3 games I was given on my birthday along with a brand new Gamecube was Wind Waker, Sonic Heroes, and the Zelda collector edition

Robotniks truck was a Frieghtliner (a Semi/Hauling vehicle subsidiary under Mercedes-Benz) & Donut Lords was a Toyota Tacoma (you know Toyota, it’s their a midsized pickup) General Motor owns Buick, Chevy, GMC and Cadillac. (Love the vid, but my autism compelled me to inform you before I continued 😅)

My childhood sonic game was Sonic FAMICOM (lots of people thought this never exist ..also I cannot find it anywhere now) , Sonic Advanced GBA , Sonic Battle GBA , Sonic 3D Blast (my very first 3D sonic game) , Final Fantasy Sonic X Series (Fanmade Web Browser Game , if you know you know..sadly it stopped at 6) , Sonic Heroes and Sonic Riders ((despite on being bad , I had a blast during this time)) , then here comes my favorite Sonic Adventure DX .. I only able to play Sonic Adventure 2 in 2012 using Emulator ..it was great but kinda too late since im into Dota 2 in that year BUT .. even tho im late .. I Absolutely love Adventure 2's City Escape .. its big part of my memories now

Sonic famicom is a somewhat well known bootleg in the emulation/rom hack/bootleg game communities! It was never an OFFICIAL sonic title from sega, but it was an unauthorised rom hack often found at flea markets and stuff especially in places like south america and eastern europe. If you're able to download and run a famicom/NES emulator you can definitely find the rom for sonic! (and I think an updated/improved version too!)

I'd love to recommend the 2nd movie, but I can't. SPOILER (not actually, more like a rant): ------ __ _ - - . . Half of the runtime is some cringe "comedic" progressive B-plot of the stereotypical loud & obnoxious obese independent black woman (that is 2/10) somehow marrying a 10/10 man that is out of her league. This is some delulu bs more unbelievable than antropomorphic animals saving the day. Even Tails the MVP couldn't salvage that movie.
