The Beast is back! His problem was that he kept using Ryu who was mid-tier at best. And on top of that, everyone knew the matchup. I forget when but he said he's really good with other characters, like Yun, but he only wants to win with a character he likes. So now that he's using E Ryu and has put in the time to train, he's back on top.

Of the times I've watched Justin play, in person, or on Twitch, the only times I ever see him use an EX Messiah is only if he's able to FADC out of it or if he'll know if it will connect. He threw out so many of them vs. Diago thinking he could surprise him off of the finishing kick after (from my view). I'm just a little dumbfounded as to why he would do that. Great set regardless

So what are the differences between Evil Ryu and Ryu? I know that Evil Ryu is more aggressive so I'm assuming he has faster attacks.

Pretty much the same but with a few more moves, different frames for normals and specials, and different walk/run speed

+YellowChakra Not really the same, Evil Ryu has major damage off the punishes he can do and with meter has opportunities to start a combo to stun and get more damage after that. Essentially, Evil Ryu has rushdown options that are greater in reward than when you play Ryu, whose gameplan is either fireball heavy with spacing considerations or very very basic fundamental gameplan, ie. footsies, mixup etc. As well as his advantage in his fireball, after the re-balance patch. Whereas with Evil Ryu, you have options in Spacing, Rushdown AND Damage, which are all interchangeable in the round depending if you have meter or not, which if he starts a combo or mixup gains very easily. This is also in addition to how you can play Evil Ryu with what Ryu had pre-rebalance patch. Other than that, yeah what you said.

Evil Ryu has slower fireball, tatsu does not break armor, health reduction. In exchange he earned a new special move and his crouch medium kick can pretty much link into anything.

e ryu got buffs and is widely considered one of the top tier characters now because of his damaging combos. Ryu while not bad, is kind of worse because other characters got buffs.

Damage scaling. Various things scale differently in most fighting games. I BELIEVE that Daigo used an EX FADC. That scales like a mother. The only thing that scales harder is an EX RFADC.

It is white damage. Basically, the character needs to take a solid hit to take the damage of the hit as well as the white damage, but they can recover from the white damage
