+JustAStandardGuy Some great moments pt 2: 0:36 Momochi with the focus dash through fireball early in the match. 0:44 Momochi focuses for a split second and Daigo tries to punish with c.mk xx tatsu. look at how quick the focus goes by, who could react to that?? 1:24 kara fireball to catch Daigo jumping 2:16 walk up throw 2:40 wakeup hopsack xx EX air tatsu. Daigo was probably looking to float over a low 3:13 Momochi holds focus, Daigo punishes with c.mk xx shoryu 3:22 Momochi ripping a level 3 focus. the mindgames! 3:38 conditioning again with the focus 3:30 third time 3:32 Daigo goes for his own focus to which Momochi counters with walkup throw 3:37 crossup j.mk ( I think?) s.mp axe kick c.mp tatsu shoryu 3:46 Daigo fireballs to match Momochi's, then FADC's to sweep and secure the round 4:18 counterhit step kick c.mk xx shore. great recognition and reaction 4:24 Momochi is caught in air frames by target combo fierce by Daigo. Daigo KNEW he would try to sweep, so he presses s.lk to reduce his standing hurtbox and counters with c.mk xx fireball FADC c.mk axe kick. ridiculous! 4:28 Daigo has been backdashing a lot after axe kick, so Momochi dashes up with c.mk fireball FADC sweep. as F-word said, they're reading each other like books. crazy play right now 4:43 Momochi feinting with s.lk at that range to confirm if Daigo fireballs or not. if he can react correctly, he can ultra through it, as you'll see later on 4:49 step kick to catch the backdash 4:52 huge costly whiff that cost Momochi game 2 5:22 air tatsu to make Momochis dp whiff, Daigo with the great bait 5:42 Momochi EX tatsu's to break Daigos focus backdash 6:17 possibly another air tatsu bait, but might be Momochi trying to build meter for next round 6:20 Daigo feels he has no need to press the attack so he chucks the plasma, building some meter, letting Momochi come to him, until 6:24 walkup throw 6:49 far s.hk to anti-air Momochi. if he tried to DP it would whiff completely 7:10 execution error by Momochi thats cost him the round 7:49 to 8:02 Momochi starts momentum with a jump in combo, pushing Daigo to the corner. more pressure leads to a stun and eventually a perfect. 8:13 another far s.hk to anti-air 8:23 another backdash from Daigo, another EX tatsu punish from Momochi, 8:25 Momochis previous attempts to anti-air Daigo have whiffed, so he does a cross cut EX DP for extra range 8:48 level 2 focus into ultra 2 9:02 and again. insane 9:09 hugely important round here. if Daigo wins, he knocks Momochi into losers and has another chance at winning 9:32 Daigo with the 3rd focus crumple. seems to be spacing it and reading Momochi at that distance very well 9:36 c.lp hop kick xx EX air tatsu axe kick results in dizzy. Daigo proceeds with the ridiculous.. 9:41 j.hk s.hp axe kick c.mp xx fireball FADC c.mp s.hp axe kick c.lp s.mp axe kick FADC c.lp s.hp axe kick c.mp tatsu shoryu shoryu. a 25 hit combo!!! the highlight of the match for many viewers 9:51 YOLO DP to reset! 10:52 focus dash through fireball to throw 10:59 another air tastu bait. that makes 3 now? 11:21 Daigo drops the combo and Momochi punishes with ultra 2. great reactions 11:40 counterhit combo 11:47 fuck outta here 12:08 walkup throw returns 12:11 got reactions? Momochi takes his first game in this set 12:40 once again catching the backdash 12:44 pretty much a 50/50 EX air tatsu. looked impossible to tell where it'd hit 12:51 regular air tatsu hits from behind 12:53 sweep on Daigos wakeup 13:02 Momochi not even holding a direction the stick. Daigo fireballs and Momochi jumps to punish on reaction 13:44 chases down the teleport with a sweep. psychic Momochi! 13:46 c.mk fireball FADC c.mk tatsu ftw 14:01 another s.hk. Daigo is on point at that range 14:05 what did I just say? LOL 14:08 blocked sweep aint even remotely safe, Daigo with huge punish and corner carry 14:22 don't even jump! 14:38 Daigo knew he'd backdash, so he holds forward and punishes for game 5 15:24 c.hp to anti-air, where a dp would whiff 15:26 dashup throw lol 16:41 this make it his 5th anti-air? he's 100% with it so far 17:22 fails the kara DP again 17:52 6/6 attempts with that button 17:58 YOLO level 3 18:06 another wakeup hopsack into EX air tatsu 18:40 7/7. goddamn! 18:41 triple stepkick 19:00 Momochi tries to get cute with the triple dash, Daigo responds with a throw 19:16 hopkick to EX air tatsu to win the set and tournament (on defense/wakeup, no less!) One of my favourite grand finals, EVER.

That was an exquisite match! So many epic battles. The perfect from momochi followed by the 25 hitter by Daigo then they just go back n forth. I love matches like this! Two artist in their craft!

Top notice quality gameplay by both of them. They were literally one with their character. Inputs wasn't even a thought. Reactions were insane by both parties. Incredible. The commentary was especially helpful to this match. The crowd was spot on. The camera angles worked. What a great video that will go down in history.

One of the best sets of all time. Everyone remembers the 25 hit combo but I didn’t remember Momochi punishing a whiffed L tatsu with Ken U2. That looked like something the CPU would do. Then reacting to a point blank fireball with U2 the very next round.

I'm pretty sure Daigo did the 25-hit combo because he thought he'd have enough meter to do ex dp at the end - which would've killed. Chipp dp would've only been beaten by Ken' EX dp, so it was a good follow-up anyway :P
@wildwest18329 жыл бұрын
Not sure whoever said daigo doesnt have execution because it sure looks pretty good here. Every player on earth drops combos even sako. Daigo dropped a couple here but hit like 95 percent of them and some really tough ones he hit every time

@Valon1298 жыл бұрын
This is the highest lvl of SFIV ever after 7 or something years of player development in it and new mechanics added multiple times since the original SFIV and you're comparing it to a 4 months old game. Vanilla SFIV was not as good and if you go and watch the games you'll see how boring it actually is.
@sonicbroom85228 жыл бұрын
This argument is so weak. Vanilla SF4 was 1000x as hype as SF V. Unless they make drastic changes to the game mechanics, then SF V will never be as hype or good as any iteration of SF IV, no matter how much time passes.
@pastqr8 жыл бұрын
stfu play sf4 then!
@shmickkenzy23827 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. SFV is fucking retarded it's now a guessing game because of the over powered grab bullshit now and crush counters. Almost really no talent is required. I know new SF players that are diamond and SFV is there fist SF that makes no sense. SF4 series ur knowledge of SF had to be good to be in the high ranks with the gods lool. SFV is just the same shit over and over at least in the 4 series u could switch up ur combos because of Focus cancel and made the match appealing
