While, this season is filler, I will give it credit that it was a filler that didn't focus on the villain going after Yugi. Granted the Virtual World Arc did that too, but it is shown that a series doesn't have to focus on the main antagonist dealing with the main protagonist, but instead a secondary characters being the central focus with the villain's agenda.

Omnicidal Clown i kinda liked this arc because unlike other Shonen anime that contantly feel the need to top themselves on a grand epic scale season after season to the point where it all just becomes strictly action and all character moments have become rarities, it took a step back and just gave us a regular tournament. No fate of humanity at stake, just personal issues. It was a great breather just before the final arc, epecially since it wrapped so many minor character roles satisfyingly.

Random observation, But I can honestly say that whilst i was gathering clips for this video, i noticed that the "Grand Championships Arc" has some of the worst character and background animations of all the other seasons. There is a shot of all the people in the stands surrounding the match in the dome and it is hideous! Anyway XD hope you enjoyed the video!!!

GX takes place 10 years after Duel Monsters so Leon would be old enough to be a teacher at Duel Academy. He would be too old to be a student. Yugi is as old as Atem in the 1st episode of GX.

"Siegfried, a character of the opera, the ring of the nibelungen" OBJECTION! Siegfried is a character out of an old german poem that is essentially a tale. The tale is called "Das Nibelungenlied" which translated would mean "The Nibelungensong". It was probably created 1200-1300 in the middle of germany. Here you go a lil bit of history about germany that doesnt consist out of hitler.
