@@roncerjani9063 some monsters are just created, just like kaiba corp just created a card for neos with a drawing by jaden in the past, but some really legendary monsters in the DM/GX cotinuity (and maybe 5ds as seen on shooting star dragon) are only created after a stone tablet or some other source, in a way rainbow dragon's card in the anime was created just like the egyptian gods and it is more likely all crystal beasts were already found by that time and everything was indicating rainbow dragon as a boss monster by name, but nowhere did they find the tablet for rainbow dragon itself, only clues that it is somewhere.

I believe the reason he didn't actually use the effect of Dark panther is because it gains the NAME of the targeted monster, removing the Neo-Spacian part of the name. I think Neos Energy lists that only Neo-Spacians can be equipped with that card.

Yeah Jesse's deck has a tone of small details that reflect his character. Notice how Rainbow Bridge of the Heart, Crystal Conclave, Rainbow Dragon, Rainbow Overdrive Dragon and Rainbow Overdragon don't destroy monsters or send them to the graveyard but bounce them or shuffle them into the deck? It seems to reflect Jesse's desire not to want to destroy his opponents monsters. Also not going to lie his Structure Deck is pretty underrated.

I'm convinced that Jessie using amythist cat the way he did was intentional. He uses his loss to kinda advertise the fact he doesn't have rainbow dragon and out right asks if anyone has seen his ace. I think this is something he probably does a lot, he's in a new place surrounded by duelists from an entirely different part of the world. It's a good time to ask for help. I don't think he was playing to win from the start.

Plus, I think Jesse wanted to keep the duel going cause it was too much fun for him, and Jaden was likely having just as much fun. I also think he wanted to see what else Jaden could do. Like he said, the reason he duels is to learn new moves and strategies, and he can’t do that if he either destroys his opponents’ cards before they can use them, or if he wins the duel too early.

While true, Jaden wasn't exactly in his right mind during that duel. He was hallucinating due to his Polymerization being infected with darkness, and it even caused him to almost pass out shortly before the duel. He even misplayed in that duel by not summoning Bubbleman with an empty field which would give him a free draw 2. The entire point of the duel was for Jesse to help Jaden break free of his infected Polymerization

After watching both versions, I generally prefer GX dub and 5Ds sub (DM they're about the same.) idk, the thing is GX has a lot of campy and cringey moments even subbed, so if I'm gonna get that either way I'd prefer it at least be something they go all in on in a language I understand.

You know I will say this for Jesse if there's one thing his structure deck emphasises it's his desire not to destroy his opponents cards as both Rainbow Bridge of the Heart and Crystal Conclave both emphasise bouncing cards rather than destroying them... hell even Rainbow Dragon and Rainbow Overdrive Dragon emphasise shuffling monsters back into the deck. It's small details but I love it. Though I will mention the reason Jaden didn't use Black Panther to copy Topaz Tigers effect is because as you pointed out Ground Mole bounced it back to the hand unless I'm missing something. As for Jesse's misplay... pfft who knows...

I can't really say it's meta per say but I do think it's a decent rogue deck purely due to how abusable Pegasus is with the new support. Unfortunately, getting out the Rainbow Dragon usually means playing into a Nibiru but the deck is really good at spamming rank 4's if anything.

At 2:52 you stated Jaden could've used Grand Mole to bounce Emerald Turtle but if he did then Neos would've had to attack Cobalt Eagle because Aqua Dolphin doesn’t have enough attack to get over it so damage wise the turn would've played out the same but Jesse would have one less Crystal Beast one field so that could changed the duel a bit.

Yeah, summoning it would have been risky as he still didn't know what else Jesse's deck could do. In a worst case scenario ,if the Field Spell was removed or if Jesse had something to get rid of it, it would mean Jaden leaving his field with next to no resources to defend himself with if he doesn't OTK Jesse the same turn.

Jesse made another bad decision during the penultimate turn: When he moves Ruby Carbuncle to the Spell and Trap Zone, that means he has four crystals in the backrow, so he can activate Rainbow Ruins to draw a card. Ruby's anime effect to special summon itself from the S/T zone is an ignition, not a trigger, so Jesse doesn't have to activate it immediately, just whenever he chooses during his main phase. Its entirely possible this one card wouldn't have helped, but it also could've been; "M Force" giving +500 ATK and pierce to a crystal beast, "Crystal Release" for +800 ATK, or something absurdly powerful like "Crystal Fortress" which means Jaden couldn't declare an attack with any monster with ATK lower than 1000 * the amount of Crystal Beasts on Jesse's Field, meaning 5000; Air Neos couldn't get over this, and Flare Neos would have great difficulty getting this high due to only gaining 800 (Fortress and Rainbow Ruins being the only Spells or Traps on the field, as Jaden has none).

Main issue, I have with Johan/Jesse's crystal beast deck is that he has so few monsters in the deck and most of them are just weak monsters set up to summon one really strong monster. It's also early in the series so their isn't much support for Jesse to search all the cards he needs without luck playing into his favor

Yeah, tho the same can be said about Jaiden's season 1 deck and the Neo Spacians He either has a bunch of vanilla monsters with super specific fusion combos or a handfull of mostly crappy low level monsters(except Grand Mole, he's actually really good) who's only purpose is to be combined with a LvL 7 normal monster to create kind of lackluster fusions that go back into the Extra Deck at the ebd if the turn if a specific field and/or equip spell isn't on the field If this were an actual Duel using *just* their anime decks or as close as possible both would brick so hard lol

The funniest part of this duel for me is that both of their Decks are fueled by the engine that is *pure* plot armor Jesse/Johann has literally *7 monsters* in a 40 card deck, most of which are weak/useless on their own and one super hard to summon boss monster (and he didn't even have that during this duel). So the fact that he got 4 of them in his *opening hand* no less just made me laugh out loud Meanwhile, Jaden/Judai is using a mix of Neo Spacians and his vanilla E-Heroes. Don't forget that Judai also plays the Chrysalis support for his Neo Spacians, which are practically a full archetype unto themselves albeit a smaller one in terms of volume (6 monsters + about as many spell/traps), so that's another like 10 or so non-Neo Spacian cards there to help make the Neo Spacians more consistent.

i know people think crystal beasts were a terrible deck, however i disagree with them with the right build they can be a very scary deck without the new support cards why? Crystal Abundance, someone i know likes to host tournaments in Yugioh tag force and Jesse is a very terrible duelist he never seems to win tournaments HOWEVER when he does win duels its through the effect of crystal abundance however with a few tweaks to the deck it can become very powerful, and very scary, he even took out crow hogan, he has taken out very powerful duelists via crystal abundance but sadly jesse loses 90% of his duels

At 7:00 I actually think Jaden was correct to leave his GrandMole in play, Jesse was in top deck mode at this point, his only definite monster was Topaz Tiger, if Grand Mole bounces that back to hand then it's just giving Jesse free reign to attack directly with it next turn, and if Jesse top decks some kind of attack boosting spell card (like Crystal Release, which we know from later episodes is in his deck) then that would have ended the game, alternatively if Jesse had top decked something like a Fissure which you pointed out then he still would have only been able to do 1600 damage with his Topz Tiger, the only realistic way for Jaden to be punished by leaving the Grandmole in play is if Jesse top decks a +1 draw spell, which he does funnily enough, but then that draw spell needs to draw him something like a Fissure and an additional monster to play at the same time (which also must have less than 2000 attack points, as otherwise Jaden loses regardless of the play he makes)

I’ll be honest, I love Jesse/Yohan’s philosophy. Part of the reason why I avoid playing Tier 0 and negation cards is because they don’t respect the fact that their opponent is also trying to play the game.

Duels are 100000% better when both duelists are just enjoying their cards, and focused on having fun. so many modern decks are focused on just disabling a deck and it's honestly so boring. Like I get it for tournaments, but when I'm just tryna have a friendly duel, chill, use some monsters you actually like, and have some fun.

I've always adored Crystal Beasts, it was one of the first decks I ever went out of my way to build and I played and refined that deck to hell and back (not at competitive level obviously) but not once in all my CB reworks did I ever use Rainbow Dragon, I tended to go for Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder as my big bad. The only deck I've ever used RD in was a Hero fusion deck and that was just as material for Rainbow Neos.

Modern cyber dragons with clockwork night and infinity (easily cheesed out with machine dupe and nova) probably has the upper hand on blue eyes as it can break the board easily. That being said, it just depends on the coin toss…whoever goes second probably wins 😂 In terms of anime decks, I still think cyber dragon has the upper hand given their flexibility compared to the kinda clunky DM decks.

Love the video but there was one little thing I notice. The question of Jaden's move with Dark Panther. It was questioned why he didn't use Dark Panther's effect on Topaz Tiger. Topaz Tiger was not on the field because it was bounced back along with Grand Mole. Grand Mole was needed to use the spell Convert Contact that then allowed the events of Caccoon Party and combo that comes after. At the time only Amber Mammoth was on the field. Without activating Grand Mole's effect it would have been destroyed and he would not have been able to draw the two cards for the combo. Jaiden could have used it on Amber Mammoth for an extra 700 attack. Still a misplay but I think the video had a little misplay of its own. I look forward to seeing more duel videos.

Glow Moss's Spell effect can only make its own attacks, direct attacks. He probably didn't use its effect since he was (no longer) in any danger of losing, and making Jesse draw is just a bad idea in general.

I’ve intentionally held back so I can do certain plays like summoning a monster with a difficult summoning condition or just wanting to end on a board with certain cards, but I only do that in Duels where I know that I can get away with it like in video games because I know it would otherwise blow up in my face like it did with Jessie here.

Soooo why didn't Jaden summon Magma neos when he had grand mole and flare scarab on the field with neos? It woulda won him the game with the anime effects of 400 atk for each CARD on the field. And even if neo space was no longer in play, it woulda bounced back every card on the field to the owners hand. I just think that is a major miss play if he wanted to win

Honestly, I think the play of not contact fusing for Flare Neos makes more sense even without hindsight. Consolidating the three of them to one monster makes Jaden’s board more vulnerable to Jesse’s backrow almost regardless of what it is (barring Mirror Force, but that would kill Flare Neos anyway) and if that monster has to leave the field because of an MST, that’s even worse. I’m gonna call that a misplay, although it does play into the typical anime strategy of “make my big flashy fusion monster.”

If you think about it, Crystal beast rainbow dragons ability to summon itself during an attack involving your crystal beast might have been a call back to when Jesse did this during Jaden's Duel, would it have changed the outcome? Still no since he can't redirect it to Rainbow Dragon
