The fad I want to see go away is listening or feeling for the trigger reset. This came from the gamesters shooting competition matches. In a fight, NOBODY worries about it. You're too busy trying to aim fast and shoot back.

I remember when ATF forms were taking forever and it became a niche item. Now, that silencers and NFA items turn around so quickly it has become more common. I have my first Silencer I thought I would ever own. I just got approved for an SBR that I thought I would never apply for.

3:35 is still being used today in conceal carry classes, my instructor taught the same thing a couple years ago. It is definitely awkward, lol I did it for a couple range sessions and just stopped. It's mainly for a defensive situation before holstering.

I remember when the Weaver Stance was a fad when shooting defensive pistol. I’ve learned to ignore “click bait” when it comes to guntubers. Especially when seeing either happy or angry faces of politicians of judges.
@thetexasgunvault23 ай бұрын
That is a good gauge to see if it is click bait!

The tuck the pistol up to your chest, looking from one side to the other, was a thing when I was a cop. Our range officers made us do that. It was so annoying. They kept telling us that we had to look from side to side to keep from being vulnerable to an attack from the side if we were ever involved in a shooting. I don’t know if they still do this as I have retired, but it was a pain in the ass back then. I got it then, I get it now. The funny thing is, when I qualified for my CCW after moving to another state, I looked from side to side before reholstering after shooting. Sigh.

I love AKs and I fully admit the online Kalashnikov community has more Special Olympic athletes than most. My theory is it was designed for illiterates and naturally attracts those people. 🤷🏻♂️ Mine is BAD levers on ARs. Some people still use them but they definitely have fallen out of style. There was a time I remember when everyone in the gun community said you HAD to have one.

I agree on both counts and I am going to have to borrow both of those in future videos. However, I do admit, I have a couple of ARs with the BAD levers. LOL

The one fad that I see (mostly on tiny channels) is verifying the gun is clear. Watching the video, I am safe and I trust you kept yourself safe enough to get the video to me. I don't watch car repair videos where the go check for pins in the jack stands, but I assume they took proper safety measuers. Fad 2 may not really be fad, but testisterone-fueled elitist personalities. They seem strong in the 2a community.

Good video thanks; Fad. Good points the weird little clear the area maneuver was such a big trend ugh. The legal click bait titles are the worst; I have to consciously not click a few of them, the one you mentioned is the worst offender in my opinion, as it isn't new or actual news just opinion. Since I work in the legal community it's so enticing to watch those updates/opinions, but can be frustrating when it's just speculative or one jurisdiction focused; oh well I just won't click solves that problem (Four Boxes Diner and Washington Gun Law seem to be ok FYI). Not sure it's a trend, but lots of "guntubers" (sorry not a big fan of that terminology) claim they have massive hands so the malfunction was them riding the slide stop or bumping the slide etc. I'm sure many have large hands, but it's so common a bit uncanny to me (pretty sure you have them big old mitts as well haha). Have a good one.

I do have them, but I do not blame malfunctions on them, only ergonomic issues with grips.
