GETTING STUCK IN A CRAZY LIGHTNING STORM ON Lake Okeechobee!!

Yes!!! I’ve been there! I was 21 years old, driving to college class 5:30 a.m. my nursing school classes, an hour away. Pitch dark and nobody on the road but me in a small rural farming area in Kansas. Lightening must have hit my car, a 66 Mustang, and my car stalled out, lights went off, and pitch dark so I couldn’t see anything! My very long hair was standing on end and my entire car was electrified. I heard a voice beside me (angel maybe), say not to just sit there, but put my hands on the wheel and at that point, I blanked out. In about one second, it seemed like, I had moved about 15 miles and was on the edge of college town I attended. The sun was coming out. To this day, I have no idea how my car moved so far. At the point I got to town though, I heard my engine restart and the lights and radio came back on!!!!! True story, I promise!!!! Glad you made it back to shore safely!!!!!

Now that's a freaky crazy thing to have happened! I'm glade the lighting didn't knock me out. I been shocked a couple of times by lighting over the years but never more than if getting shocked by a light socket.

There is a radio station that has crazy stories about people in Florida called Florida men U would fit in getting stuck like that

LOL! I don’t think it was that crazy but thanks. Now, if I would have survived a bolt hitting me, that would have been radio worthy. My friend Jeff was struck while fishing and survived. They found him laying in his burnt up boat with his hair and clothes burt off. He was helicoptered to the hospital. That’s the story I was thinking about while I was working my way back to the truck. Thanks for the comments.

If you don't want to get stuck in a lightning storm you should move out of the way when you see a lightning storm coming.

I've gotten stuck on a lake in a surprise storm. Everyones hair was standing on end and I could feel the electricity in the air. The boat pilot floored it heading back to the dock while everyone else got as low as they could. It was bad and lightning everywhere. Of course, by the time we got back to the dock, the storm had passed. I've been indirectly hit before by lightning and it's no fun at all. Ever since, I've had too many close calls.
