The durian you ate was the very ripe one. Usually people don't like it because it's too sweet and has a strong smell. Therefore, we mainly use ripe durian to make desserts. For beginners, try Monthong Durian, which is the kind that has crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It also smells lighter and not too sweet.

Next time, when you will buy Durian or Durian sticky rice; likewise fruit you should request nearly ripe and tell the seller with this words 'ขอแบบกรอบ Kho-Baeb-Krob' , Durian sticky rice(almost ripe durian), you should mix durian, sticky rice and salty coconut milk(rare), mostly sweet coconut milk(common).😋

@EllisWR2 жыл бұрын
Agree mate there's so many hidden spots to explore
the pancake one that you tried, is called Ka Noom (Snack) Tung (barrel) Tek (break or brock or broken), straight forward translation is broken barrel. "Tung Tek" in Thai can also mean "poor" or "broke", I have been told that because the snack was only made just the flour, sugar, and shredded coconut back then and they were very cheap and very heavy, you can replace this snack with a proper meal. this is why it was very popular among the lower class society back in the old day and for those reasons, it has been given its name ever since. the yellow shred of egg yolk on top of the pancakes that you tried, is Foi (shredded) Tong (Glod), or Shredded gold, it makes from yolk boiled in syrup, it's actually not a Thai dessert, the origin of this dessert is from Portugal, it is called "fios de ovos", means angle hair, we got Portugal's influent around Ayuthaya Era, the first introduction to our culture was, according to the historian, around 1512, by trade and the expansion of religion (missionary) brought it with them.

Hi, Welcome to Thailand ! Your video is very interesting. You presented locations and foods that were not included in the guidebook. I'd say there are hundreds of delicious Thai dishes.👌🏼 but no one speaks up. You are very brave to travel in areas that are not touristy for tourists, such as Thonglor, as a result, They will not communicate in English. Communication may be difficult. 😢 but you try speak thai language. I respect you!! Omg I love your video so much. Subscribed!! By the way, Durian has so many textures and the taste will be different. You could try “Monthong” durian first. The texture is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. You can ask the seller for Durian Monthong, ( crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. - Kob-Nork-Noom-Nai - กรอบนอกนุ่มใน )

Fruit juices or liquid desserts in Thailand are usually sweeter because Thai people like to drink them with ice, so vendors tend to make strong flavors to accommodate ice blends. how to eat If eating with ice, should use a straw to stir with ice for a while, the sweetness will decrease, but the coldness of the drink will increase.

And by trying as many dishes, experiencing the good and the bad if any, I think you have already made this trip worthwhile.

Hey thanks so much we try to learn everyday speaking to people! How is Singapore my friend worth visiting? Have a nice day!
@panther76812 жыл бұрын
@@EllisWR As of now, it's been a whole lot of rain. If you have already made a trip to SEA, Singapore can be a quick stopover for jt a couple of days, possibly 3 days max. It's modern and clean at most areas if you don't plan to go beyond popular spots. Food wise, it's variety with a mix of Malaysian, Indian, and Chinese. Quality wise, tbh, ingredients are imported so you would just get frozen meat and that's possibly why you would get meat that's already been coated and deep fried, then stirred in or covered with sauce or gravy. As a tourist, you should visit landmarks like museums, Garden by the Bay, and Casino Sand at Marina Bay where you can take a quick walk one round(ard 3.6km); you will pass the Merlion as well. This I know as I walk my golden retriever there fairly often🤣. Transportation wise, very convenient with MRT. If you are planning to try dishes at hawker centres (food centre)and if you are keen on exploring, it' better to go to the neighbourhood area rather than the tourist famous such as Newton food centre. Unless you try the food in the foodcourt or restaurants, elsewhere do ask the price again even if it's clearly stated on the board before attempting any order especially seafood, and rice dishes where you choose your own toppings) Overall, I'd say it's a good country to make a quick visit before heading elsewhere.
