Thailand have 76 state In fact sexual tourism target they know only Pattaya, Phuket, Bangkok where the place that can make them feel more important than where they come from. Thailand have about 33,000,000 women and half of the number they are good education with proper job and sweet pay. I have to tell you a bit more. I have known this woman for 6 years now. I am 50 years old and she's 39 y.o. in a few days. We met in her bar in Pattaya. I was never a big fan of Pattaya, and still I am not crazy about it, but I go there to meet up with my thai girlfriend. Most times we go travelling around Thailand, and she's a perfect travel partner. About three years ago I realized that she was not making enough money from me, and I was thinking about what I could do to help her. She has never complained about the money I give her. It dawned on me that while we are in Pattaya, the best I could do was to let her work in the bar. Let her make the most of it. I told her that she could work as much as she liked. I had copies made of the room keys for the guesthouse, and gave them to her. And then I told her that I would still pay her, if she was in our bed when I woke up. It has turned out to be one of the best ideas I've ever had. A complete win-win. She's free to do what ever, when ever, and I get some time on my own, wich I need and she understands. I also get loads of inside information from her. I never ask her about details, but I will listen if she has something to say, wich is often the case. We are each others good company. I know her teenage daughter and some other family members. I have never been to the village, but I wouldn't mind going. No one expect us to marry anyway. But they know that we are together when I am in Thailand. If we ever 'break up', I will make sure to find a woman I could have the same arrangement with. Alright, I just wanted to ad this info to people going to Thailand. Our relationship is based on respect, I guess. And then love comes in on top of that respect. As good as it gets ; )

Almost all ladies look for security in any relationship,irrespective of were they are from.The difference is in Thailand the tourist only has 2/3 weeks to form a relationship,which is not long enough to get to no the person,(on both sides)In europe there is as much time as necessary to form a more stable relationship and usually 2 salaries.And they dont have to support all the family.

I am indonesian and i have a thai good friend, we are working hard, she have a German husband and me too. As we knew, in german there are lot of Thai and same as in Netherlands are lots of indonesian. I think no mater where are u come from, thai, indo or pinoy, no mater race ir nationality, if you are married and love your husband, of course we have to take care each other, not only for money. And as a wife, we are not only received money from husband for living cost, but we should creative, make business to earn money, as a tailor, working at salon or at the restaurant, so we can buy something what we need or we can buy something for our husband. Some Asian wife married western are because of real love, want to make a happy family and have lovely kids, grow old together, take care each other.

People are something else. What is really so hard to understand about this? "well it's not like in the movies love"... yeah, no shit! Real marriage isn't like that either, may start out as that, but we all know the sadness and trapped feeling many people feel after that "love" wears off. If you go pay for a woman's company for a night, no worries correct? It was a business deal. This is too in a sense, not my cup of tea, but so what? Some people don't want to be alone, and others need a sense of financial security. This isn't quite the same as your normal American gold digger situation, they aren't looking for millionaires... just partners. Relationships are tricky, maybe with respect shown by both sides it could turn out better than a high school/ college sweetheart scenario, where you simply stayed in it too long. Too much judging, if both parties are happy, then I don't see the problem. If the partnership simply isn't going to work, then I'm sure that will be figured out before a marriage happens. Let's put in into blunt terms... It be the same as screwing your maid, except the maid sleeps in your bed, shares your things and expects to go out to places with you. maybe it turns into something else/maybe not, either way if you're both comfortable and happy... Then what's it really matter what "society" thinks?

Yes, this is exactly right. Actually the bar girl thing makes me sick. The reason is that my wife and I are both highly educated, we just have a normal marriage but we always get these strange looks from people who don't know us because "that" kind of relationship is so common in SE Asia. I'm politically liberal but socially a little more traditional so that kind of stuff makes me pretty uncomfortable.

Well why do a lot of frangs go to Thailand thinking they are rich I have seen them in bars buying drinks gropping young girls. And there bar tabs being 5000thb + I asked my Thai girl friend What did she think (it's up to them ) she said surely it would be better if they gave some to a family ......she then said that's the sign of a good man. Many ppl have commented about finding a rich Thai woman with good education and that will ensure better chances of securing a good future partner. My experiences with Thai Women served to contradict this. I have 2 failed relationships with 2 Thai women. They are very well educated and spoke good English. The first one came from mae fah Luang University in Chiang rai, which provided degree courses in English. Eventually she came over to my country and left me to pursue her dream of becoming a cabin crew. The second one had a master degree and spoke good English as well. But she used to work in the nightlife. Her family wasn't poor so I dunno what was her motivation behind it. This one cheated on me and went off with another guy. Wealth is a very bad indicator to judge a woman. There are literally tons of Thai women who are poor but turn out to be good ppl. This is the same everywhere. They earn decent money with their labours and started off with a humble business like a street stall. You will be amazed by their ethics despite of their status. In fact, this is what everyone is looking for in their future partners. Of course, a poor, uneducated woman working in night life should be automatically disqualified from the pool.

I would say that money IS a big deal for bar girls or women from the rural areas of Thailand. Money is not so important for middle class women in Thailand. Also, they also like money for the social status that it brings. Thais love to show off any wealth they have.

Farang Pussyhead Agreed. Seen it. Young women with money/social status, the very few, can stay in a relationship with the westerner not for money, but to learn English and westerner mentality. Yet they would never marry him, nor have babies with him, and not even introducing him to family. And they usually quit the relationship with the foreigner as soon as they find the right Thai man, or the right career. Old rich women, can be a different story, but again they are there for the money usually. Not to take and take, as poor village women, but to make business with the foreigner. All these cases are of course way fewer than the golden rule "poor Thai woman-foreigner" relationship.
