THAILAND Biggest Slum: Khlong Toei, BANGKOK!

In this video I went alone to one of the largest slums in Asia, located in Bangkok, known as Khlong Thoey.
Institutions help the community, but the children still live in inhumane conditions.
People were very kind to me all the time and i "enjoyed" being there.

Hello from Thailand, if you go to Khlong Toei slum during the day You won't find people. Because people will go to work and at present Khlong Toei is not as scary or has as many drug problems as in the past. Because nowadays people there have changed their way of life. to try to create a better future for them.

What could be the motive for people there to change their way of living towards a better future? I’m looking to know that process in a collective appropriation/ownership of the space of living and at the same time envisioning that space and thriving community in the future. @aboy7082 The situation is that Khlong Toei is much poorer than Kova da Moura, houses falling apart, huge reptiles around the houses, levels of pollution that I have never seen in almost 20 countries that I have visited, I don't understand why you were talking about Cova da Moura because this video has nothing to do with that place! And as I said, Kova da Moura is dangerous, but Khlong toei is much more precarious!

Most people in Thailand live in abject poverty. There are 66 million Thais and 12 million live in Bangkok. The rural poor live in dire circumstances that are beyond the comprehension of poor people in the West. Thank you for filming this slum. I was lucky enough to teach teenagers from Khlong Thoey who attended Mattayom Wat Thathong. Despite being very poor and underfed, the students were respectful and appreciative, unless poor kids in America who are violent and destructive.

i ended up walking through part of that nieghborhood by accident one night at about 1:30am , cant lie it took me surprise and i was a bit on edge for a minute there not knowing if i would be ok getting out of there in one piece lol. thankfully the locals where pretty cool people and i was ok etc
