Thailand and Indonesia are Right Hand Drive. Their manufacturing caters to the major RHD markets in ASEAN and Australia
@KMTDivision2 ай бұрын
In my experience, apparels, electronics and appliances that are made in Thailand are more durable than those made in China. I'm not 100% sure why this is the case, but perhaps it's because Thailand has somewhat stricter quality control and also the numbers of items produced are not as large as those in China, and so easier to manage.

I am Malaysian and next door to Thailand. The progress and government effort in building the whole vehicle manufacturing atmosphere and ecosystem is respectable. By domestic market is also huge with 80 million population, auto sector are quite good in sustainability. Also the technology growth, the facility, the reputation of Thailand.quality parts also play crucial part. The future automotive will somehow faces new challenges due to influx of many new Chinese brands.

Deforestation is severe in Indonesia to serve rapid growth population. Indonesian population = 280 Mil vs Thailand population = 70 Mil.

Yes, you are right. Though it was the Thai government itself that initially announced that it had found 14.8 million tons of lithium and later corrected its mistake. Thanks for the clarification.

As a Thai I ignored that news as some desperate government propaganda. The news was so poorly written and lacked any substantive proof.

For EV batteries we have already Chinese , South Korean , German French consortium manufacturing in Indonesia and the downstreaming are increasing by the day. Nickel , Cobalt, Silica sand, Gold , Silver, Copper, SGA for Aluminium , Tin , Carbon steel plates , Stainless steel plates . Last month we have also innaugurated the Lithium processing plants with Australia ores , Congo ores etc. For Africa mineral we do have cooperation where our MIN ID invest in those countries . We are also looking for oppourtunities in Peru and other South American countries for Lithium. So combining with our abundant renewable energy sources such as Geothermal, Hydropower , Solar, Wind , Green Ammonia, Green , LNG, Hydrogen , Thorium . We are optimizing them for producing cheap energy to supply to our several smelters to build the EV., yes Chinese companies have already coming here to invest (4 of them ) and as well as From South Korea, France and Germany because we have the raw material that they need . Don't forget Indonesia has also the consumers market . We intend to slowly phased out ICE cars like Norway and go all the way for EV, Hybrid EV, Green Hydrogen. once the network of EV charging network are installed we will have both the production capacity as well as consumers from 280 Million people. for Buses, Trucks, Cars and Motorcycles. We haven't talk about our Bio Fuels and Methane hydrate deposits that can produce clean methane gas for power generation . We have found deposits that can last for hundred of years , 120,000 MT Uranium and more Rare Earth Minerals. Once you control the down streaming , then you can have an edge on EV China knows our strategic role , location and stance for China security of safe sea passage from Indian Ocean to Pacific Ocean.

Thailand has 0% import tax on Chinese EV’s due to their trade agreement with China. So I think it’s unlikely that we see other EV manufacturers than BYD in Thailand for the moment, they have an overcapacity in China so they need to export their EV’s. Thailand has a huge import tax on car produced outside ASEAN, so an export to the US is highly unlikely without a high import tariff
@nshon72 ай бұрын
So much over capacity that they are selling the same car (BYD Seal) for €44,900 in Europe, €36,000 in Thailand and €23,000 in China. That is some kind of lousy dumping policy
