When I saw the title of the video I had planned to ask you if you are happy. Moments into the video I realized the answer. I am divorced also, but happily so. It was one of the worst experiences of my life, but on the upside I regained my independence. I travel to Thailand annually barring a pandemic. If I have learned anything in life it’s that you alone can make your own happiness! No one can create it for you but they certainly can ruin it for you. Don’t remain in misery, reclaim your life! Cheers!!

I love the almost unedited and very raw way how you shoot your videos. Beautiful waves, alone at the beach, open shirt and just hit record. You are right, you collect lighters which is quite uncommon but therefore unique and I truly enjoy your videos when you are out there at peace. Cheers from Chiang Mai, stay happy Steve

Thank you, Steve, for your honest and compelling storytelling today. I look forward to it each week. The narrative continues to provide more color to what I always mistakenly imagine is an understanding of Steve Rosse. I don't know you at all...though I feel I do. I believe that's what keeps us all watching and wanting more. Thank you for putting yourself out there. You have story to tell.

As an aside, in a a sincere attempt for more depth and understanding, and to support you, I just bought "Leaving Thailand - A Memoir." I hope it gives me more context as the cost is pretty steep for a paperback...my book is only a couple of bucks less, but has a lot of color images which Amazon seems to exploit. I'm not sure if your book has images or color yet, but I'm looking forward to getting it!

Wow that’s quite a story about your divorce! Devastating! Mine 16 years ago wasn’t so dramatic. Just grew stale, she was an alcoholic and I’d just had enough so I left. My daughter had already left for college. I never missed her at all (and we still get along fine to this day) but I did miss the life we had with friends and social circles. Took a while to get over that but I was a busy lawyer so had work to throw myself into. After a few months I just started having this great feeling of freedom. Even after handing over half of what I had to her I still had plenty and a great income with no spousal or child support obligations! That was an amazing feeling! Never thought I’d marry again - why would I? Then I came to Thailand on business and met the love of my life. That was almost 15 years ago. She was a college educated young beauty I met while she was interning at my client’s office in Bangkok! Dated 2 years. Then I took her to the States where we married and lived for almost 11 years. Now we are living our Turtle Beach dream out in Hua Hin! My life is the best it’s ever been! It’s a cliche but it’s true - when one door closes another opens. I was asleep during 9/11 and Kennedy! Lol

Good video/vlog. My divorce was a horror show. Made it through it and happy as a clam here in Thailand now with my 2nd wife, 24 years today anniversary. 31 years together. Divorce sucks, mostly for the kids involved. It does damage, sadly. Many never truly get over it and turn to alcohol, drugs, mongering, and are miserable, unhappy, depressed and angry people for the rest of their lives. You are lucky enough to have found your Turtle Beach. I've found mine as well, though sadly not ON a beach. 🙂 Keep on keeping on brother and enjoy what time you have being happy. One question... did the guy she was with when you caught her with him stick around? She sounds toxic. Every lightbulb in the house? Damn, that's cold.

I always enjoy a morning or evening walk. I am in the desert, but I always love the detail , the animals, and the seasons. Only problem is the heat in mid summer. Three months of the year I cannot walk outside and I have to turn to indoor venues for a little exercise. Temp is 117 F now and the radiant heat from the asphalt is all night long . The feeling is just not as free when I am indoors.

I haven't been married or divorced, so I can't directly relate to your experience, but I am a child of divorce, so I feel for ya and am truly sorry for what you went through. Now, I have to address the other thing......as a resident of Indiana (unfortunately), I grew up onlastening to Bob & Tom! It is so cool that you listened to them. I always forgot, living here, that they are/were syndicated. When I finally escaped my bumpkin prison and moved out to Oregon and Washington, I was pleasantly surprised to hear the familiar laughter on stations out there:) Have a wonderful weekend Steve!

The 911 argument is a great example of how things can become so single sided. To the point of "blind rage." I have been married once and she was Thai. We managed to handle the divorce proceedings ourselves (THANK GOD) but I never could have known how at odds I could feel with one other person. I am at peace with my single life again. It's just been a year now and sometimes that unnecessary sad feeling arises for a few moments but I don't regret any of it and I think we both learned a lot about ourselves when it was all said and done. Thanks for your perspective and analogy. ✌️

I think the hardest part of divorce was the idea that somehow I had failed and my ego was also wrapped around a successful marriage and my life as a dad.. if I did not have a successful marriage and only 1 of my 3 children.. well what was I ? Getting through that and needing build my life back up with the things that I like was the best thing I could have done.. It is excruciatingly painful but worth it to get to know the real you..

Some of us suffer because we don’t know where we should be, or whom we should be with. Others suffer because we know exactly where we should be, or whom we should be with, but cannot be with them, or there. Sometimes the who makes the where irrelevant. Some of the best times of my life were in the worst places because of the who. Those same whos in times made the wheres worse than ever. Those visiting Steve remind me of the Bill Murray Film: The Razors Edge. Murray made the famous quip: “It's easy to be a holy man on top of a mountain.” I’d say it’s easy to be happy if you’re Steve Rosse on Turtle Beach. But Steve Rosse threw a lot of his own sand into the wind to find the one place where he could watch the rest of it fall. All seekers are saddled with the same burden. First you must find the where. Then the how. The luckiest of all get to bring along the who. I’ll settle for my own where. I know the exact spot. As to the how…

I am a lady that had to pay for spouse support and give half to get a divorce as I reckon either him or stinking lawyer with more aggravation. Sometimes the relationship is sucking the very life out of you and it is better to let go as you can't buy time. I was single for more than 5 years, I quit my business and felt God was leading me to Spain. 1 year later met my now husband and been married for 7 years, the best man in this planet earth and if every husband is like him there would be no divorce. He is sensible, honest and true, his parents brought him well. I am in a beach in UK, lol

Brutal divorce when children 2 and 6 - thrown out of home police lawyers the whole catastrophe/. Now a son21 and daughter 17. Ludicrous asset wastage to lawyers, As my guys said the children always referred to as hostages! It is a nightmare , creative thinking all lost to the caustic situation! Just pulling through hopefully after dedicating my new life to my mother and father to ensure they lived best life. So difficult however love and war as they say! So pleased my mum never went to an aged care home. She had a great end of life due to my availability for 12 years ????........ feels good however the collateral damage is massive for all involved. No winners

Hi Steve, I feel for you. Some of us females can have a horrific divorce as well, sadly.. I think these men want to see you in the flesh. They hear your story and see you have come through the other side and are still in one piece. Idk, maybe a little simplistic but maybe true!

I'm certain that my divorce was hard on my wife, and harder still on the children.

I have two kids now adults, but my divorce of 26 years , I didn’t hire a lawyer because I felt they just ‘pit’ you against the other spouse. ( plus they are expensive) Try to work things out to a degree possible if you can. All was workable until she got new boyfriend who wanted my assets, tools, property, trucks etc. it’s a rocky road anyway you go.

Steve, did you use the gimble? The video was very smooth and great colors. Sorry to hear that he went through such a painful divorce. Another year on turtle beach and you will barely remember those bad days

Amen. I have two gimbals, but I can't figure out how to use them. My tripod won't go low enough to shoot my tiny actors. So I just hold the camera in my shaky hand.

Sort of getting an urge to prank you. I'm thinking about showing up at your front door with two beautiful massage girls. Saying I just got divorced and I flew all the way from a far away country to seek advice from you. Tell you I met these two girls on the way from the airport and they think i'm young and handsome. (Lol). They will be wearing t-shirts that say "TRAINABLE". Then I'll ask if we can come inside, so you can give me advice on how to get over a nasty divorce. Maybe I will start the conversation by saying " Steve, I know people usually bring you gifts but I couldn't think of what you might want. Do you have any suggestions." It would be very entertaining for me to see how Stev Rossee handles this one.

GQ stubble? Nice shirt btw. ( better than the plaids) Maybe you can start charging for relationship consultations. You need to understand that younger men may be seeking a good listener- one that is older and wiser…unlike their peers or family members. Take it as a complement but you’re correct, a counselor, psychologist or other professionals can be good listeners and give good solid advice.
