Liverpool are the team I hate the most, they are United's only genuine rivals, so I hate and respect them and their achievements.The first football book I ever read was Shankly's autobiography when I was about 9 or 10. The man was a genius, a hero, a leader, and a visionary. When you watch this video what comes across is how thoroughly decent, honest and driven he was, with the charisma of a film star. @StephenButlerOne6 жыл бұрын
john tudor hallelujah the second half of that final is fantastic. The football played by Liverpool is fast-paced pressing, counter footy, very much like today's team. People say the game is totally different now, and that players then couldn't keep up. Well that second half, with a lead weight ball, says differently. It must be hard for you to look back to that era when Newcastle was the team, and them Liverpool the new boys and underdogs, to what you have now 😒 I hope you lot get a buyer soon, as I cant see Rafa staying if the ownership isn't sorted out. Rafa didn't have to stay after you went down, no one would have blamed him, as he was given the impossible task to keep you up, in 8 games iirc (i was at Anfield when we drew iirc, your fans was great that day) However, he stayed, brought you back up, and Ashley just fucked him, and the team over. If you lose Rafa, I do fear for Newcastle's future. He is the only thing the club has to go going for it atm. Well that, the great ground and your paying supporters. they have also been fucked over. It's ironic we (or I ) speak of Ashely, with his zero hour contracts, and fuck everyone approach, under a video of Bill talking of the socialist side of the football. Where did the days go? If you ain't got an oil baron owner, the chances of rising to the top are slim. So for that respect, we (Liverpool ) hope your new owner isn't too rich. 👍

True Legend, who brought the best manager in England Ever Sir Bob Paisley who won 18 trophies in 9 seasons 6 titles 3 European Cups ect. More Trophies than any of Alex Ferguson's 15 seasons? Shankly brought us together with the boot room. YNWA

Liverpaul 99 Yet poor Shanks when he left the club (forced out if some sources are to believed) was treated as an outcast and something of a pariah. He ended his days watching football at Goodison where he was always welcome. Ironically he created the mythos and principals of Liverpool FC but he ended his life walking alone. Shame on you Liverpool.

There can never be another Bill Shankly... A master of motivation a master of words.... Words that the working class man understood I have read a lot about Bill Shankly he was truly unique a total one off he was tough demanding but very fair..... He instilled something into his team. that made them want to go out on the pitch and give every last drop of sweat for Liverpool..... He was a humble man and a very kind man who cared about everyone...... This world need people like Bill Shankly

Absolutely fascinating man...the way he talked about getting all the details - how to train, how to get the best out of every bone- legend was a sports scientist before it even became a thing wasn't he...he would have hated new generation egos and wasters...would have murdered us.

What a find. Is it me but interviewers then got much more out of the people they were talking to. But nobody would have a problem with Shanks would they.

Philip Curnow she was a great interviewer she asked him an open question and allowed him to speak...not like today's interviewers who interview to an agenda
@deannelson13885 жыл бұрын
@David Jones yeah you can clearly see she is interested in the conversation by the questions she asks, really genuine. not like today's false fake plastic 'journalists'
@Thorny57185 жыл бұрын
Because like most idiots today they all have bloody agendas!! This woman seems genuinely interested and letting him speak. However you didn’t do well stopping Shanks talk or be bad mannered?,

Trains and wants to be super fit and dies of a heart attack only a couple of years later. Gone too soon. But, with his mentality he would leave the likes of Pep and Mourinho in his wake. He built from the ground up, an organic growth. The two greatest managers over the last few years spend spend spend and leave you wondering if Mo/Pep could take say a Leeds Utd to greatness without being state-owned or spending half a billion on a team. Shanks, Busby, Stein, Ferguson, Clough, all geniuses that the modern day manager would be proud to learn from.
