I have travelled in this route many times by two wheeler when I worked in Orathanadu nearby village. Really beautiful route and enjoyable in two wheeler ride. Pattukottai town and old bus stand is most congested during daytime like any town in Cauvery delta. The famous actor Sivaji Ganeshan and Actor son Prabhu and also his son vikram Prabhu born village Soorakottai is there where Tiruturaipoondi road branched off at the outer of Thanjavur. This route is known for frequent speed version accidents as buses take just 45 minutes to pass 55 km distance. thanks

Try Erode - Madurai via muthur Mulanur, Vellakovil, oddanchatram New route only one bus run through this route No one ( even tamil youtubers) touched this path

@SingleTraveller Erode busstand timing 3.00P.M ( confirm with the locals in your community post or friends in erode ) But bus will depart vellakovil busstand at 5.00Pm This route is not explored by any of the youtubers . Scenic views along the way 1) Erode to Muthur you can see rice fields, turmeric fields sugarcane fields along the way 2) Muthur to Moolanur section via vellakoil is crossed by the mighty Amaravathi river( tributary of kaveri) 3) Moolanur to Oddanchatram section is most a flat arid plains like vidharbha region ( don't forget to see the famous cone shaped or shiv Ling shaped mountain named kondrangi keeranur along This route) and this one of least populated sections of entire tamilnadu after the western ghats and eastern ghats .

@@SingleTraveller There are lot of buses from Madurai throughout the state There are two bus stands in Madurai to facilitate the travel 1) Arapalayam busstand( the one you will arive) Erode , Salem , coimbatore ,Tiruppur, Bengaluru , Theni,Munnar buses will depart from Arapalayam busstand of Madurai. 2) Mattuthavani Busstand Chennai, vellore , Trichy (+delta) , Rameshwaram, Thenkasi, Nagercoil, Tirunelveli,Tuticorin buses will depart from Mattuthavani busstand of Madurai. So , don't worry about the return buses
