I love smaller games like this to help break up AAA titles and often they end up feeling the most rewarding. Great review, I've put it on my list!

Took a break from AAA games recently. Dungeons of Hinterberg was 1st on the list. Turns out I’ve had more fun and rewarding gameplay in this then I have had since Elden Ring launched over 2 years ago. Crazy. Now back to Alan Wake 2 and it’s dlc. GLHF all!

Dungeons of Hinterberg is certainly an indie gem

If you're up for another colorful game in a setting full of bizarre folks, look up Clash: Artifacts of Chaos from 2023 (3D beat-em-up action adventure, Zeno Clash prequel). Perhaps Cookie Cutter (hand-drawn awesomly animated metroidvania), Blud (Hand-drawn 2D vampire slaying adventure that looks like a good Cartoon Network show) and Zet Zillions (2D deck builder roguelike). Clash: AoC and Cookie Cutter especially were & are favourites.

We always tell people, stop sleeping on indies just because they aren't some ultra 4K hyper realistic game.

Indie games innovate or try something different. AAA takes that 'special sauce' and tries to replicate it, and pass it off as a meaningful update to their drawn out 'cut and paste' franchise. It's still better in the indie. Support that.

"Barnsworth isn't just a normal English town, it's filled with the weirdest, most bizarre people you can possibly imagine" Sounds like a normal English town to me

walking sim/constant fetch quest with no puzzles or mechanics/minigames that plays a few puns in the background while you walk about. If you didn't laugh during this preview there is 0 reason to buy this. I had no interest in ever visiting England but now I would throw out a free ticket to fly there and back.
