Extremely well written song, never gets old to me. Acceptance of the dark parts of being alive to the point of being thankful for them and the possibility of liberation through the pairing of opposites. Yin/yang, clarity/consequence, the importance of silence emphasized at the end of the chorus. It’s a true work of genius I think.

Obviously she has LOTS of great songs....but imo, this is THE best song she ever made. It's so pure....and honest. And not just lyrically. Musically it's SO interesting to me. Real simple...just the basic 1, 4, and 5 chord. That's it. But it ends up transcendent sounding. One of those super rare 100% perfect pop songs that just works on every single level.

Every great once in a while, all the stars come in line and everything is perfect for a few minutes. Her vocal, the sound, the raw simple lighting, her expressions, her body language, and just the right amount of adorable awkwardness shining through. You just can't beat this.
