I just have to say how much I appreciate your vulnerability. I have been growing out my locs over 2.5 years and my edges are definitely on the sick and shut in list. The way you hit so many important points (not letting people saying unkind comments sit in your spirit, forgiving yourself for not knowing you were damaging your edges, and just being kind in general) just really spoke to me. People don’t realize how taking joy in your loc journey is so important (for the pleasant and unpleasant moments). Thank you so much ❤️✨

Microlocs can be ANY size. That's why there are people with microlocs and you'd swear it's sisterlocs if you didn't examine the grid. There are smaller microlocs than sisterlocks so yes larger, of course. The grid and 😊 doing the installation can sometimes be the only difference. When I did my DIY microlocs my man's mother was telling me she had sisterlocks some years ago. Ik she doesn't know the difference. Someone told her they can do it so she did it- Many people don't.
@ms.virgo821874 ай бұрын
Right ✅️. I have microlocs started with two strand twists 21-months in. Mind you, my loctician did put them in very small, and I get told all the time how people love my sisterlocs. I do correct them and say they are microlocs because I dont want the sisterloc brigade to come for me...😅 But like you said, unless someone knows how the grid is, folks don't know they just see very tiny locs and think all are sisterlocs. And besides, at the end, micros will look the exact same as sistelocs. Because my head is small, if I had gotten sisterlocs, they would have been extremely small to get that 400 plus number. And when I first started, I was missing about 2-3" of hairline/edges, so I definitely would probably ended up with about 450-500 in my head since then my hairline has grown tremendously and more locs have been added 😅.

Honestly, I've learned to leave them alone. No tension, minimal manipulation and cover them at night to protect them. I also use this regrowth oil specifically for edges and the temple areas, I'll link it and that's all I've done. However if the area you wish to regrow is slick and very smooth it my be traumatized beyond regrowth, meaning the hair follicles have scared over and hair can no longer grow through them.
