The boys and I had so much fun making these Thanksgiving handprint cookie crafts. Their favorite part?? Why eating cookies at the end of course!
This kid-friendly craft is a great way to gift some baked goods this Thanksgiving. And the children will get a kick out of bringing their turkey to life.
With a little assistance from an adult, this is such a quick craft which means it's easy for kids. These handprint turkey cookies are a great activity to do at home with your children. Or you could create these in the classroom, at playgroup or church, just to name a few.
SUPPLIES:
• Cookies (store-bought or homemade)
• Orange Craft Paper
• Yellow Craft Paper
• Red Craft Paper
• Cello/Zip Lock Bags
• Googly Eyes
• Glue Tape
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Ruler
STEP 1: Package cookie inside a bag. I folded the excess bag behind the cookie and used the adhesive tape roller to attach it to the back.
STEP 2: Take a red sheet of paper and roughly measure two strips for your turkey's legs. Cut these out and then "zig-zag" fold them.
STEP 3: Using the red paper, cut a small "U" shape that will be the turkey's wattle (neck). With the orange paper, cut a small triangle that will be the turkey's beak.
STEP 4: Attach the eyes, wattle and beak.
STEP 5: Stick the folded red strips to the back for your turkey's legs.
STEP 6: Trace and cut a handprint on each of the coloured papers. Then attach the hands together to create the turkey feathers.
STEP 7: Finish by attaching your cookie body to the feathers.
